Next gen: Nankai, Quamen and Max
« on: July 18, 2008, 12:29:34 AM »
Here we go with some next generation news.

The next generation of the Nankai freecoaster with alloy shell weights in at 510g / 1.1 lbs. There are two different versions available. Check out the third-kind distribution website for more information about them: Bamboo and Techno light.

Quamen has a new website online: www.quamenbikes.com

A couple of days ago Sebastian Pospischils girlfriend Stephi gave birth to their first son Max Pepe. Congratulation! The next generation of flatland - here "it" is! The email Sebastian sent goes along very well with the rest of this post: "Specs: 4kg and 55cm height, not bad for arriving over two weeks earlier."

congrats to S.P.!!!

that alloy Bamboo has been available in Japan for some time now.
a friend of mine was told that FF had no plans of ever stocking that hub either which kinda p'd me off cuz WHY NOT!? Nankai is the best out there...why not make an even better version available!? btw-that word did not come from Pats mouth! rather it came from another FF employee.
if FF or any other retailer in the US makes this hub available, im all over it.
the steel Bamboo is already much lighter than the normal Techno Lite, so imagine it with the alloy shell. VERY NIIICE!(in my best Borat voice).

We have had the alloy techno hub in 3/8" for a while. It has been available for about 6 months now. As for the 14mm Bamboo, the reason we do not plan to stock it is because there is no demand for 14mm hubs. Very few flatland frames are available in 14mm and street/park guys are afraid to buy a non-sealed hub. But if Budz or anyone else would like one of these hubs I would be happy to special order it for you.
