Unbike
« on: May 27, 2008, 05:48:23 AM »
well, i thought about it, n i think that an Unbike would help me ALOT in learning new tricks, but i realize i would stick have to learn how to counter the weight of a real bike when i go back to trying stuff. thus, i am asking the communities advice: helpful, yes or no??

thank you

i find it helpful because it makes you're body used to finding a balance point, and it's simpler because you don't HAVE to worry about counter wieght yet, once you're body learns a good balance point, and you go back to a real bike, it's just a matter of ajustment. also i think, that since you don't have the frame to stablize you as much the 'stakes are higher' so to say, so you look for that balance point even more so, because if you don't, you're prob gonna get a hurt real bad (been there). but yeah, i'd like to set up my unbike again, i just need to put my new forks on my bike

I find the UNBIKE very usefull but I find that it would be better just to learn the trick on the complete bike becuase of the frame and different weights between the two...

I would have never learned Hitchikers and Backpackers as easy as I did if I didn't use an Unbike.

They work!

my opinion, unbikes are FUN, but useless, unless you want to learn elephant glides, period.  Flame all you want, nothing like having a real bike to learn with

maybe it IS a different feeling than riding a complete bike, BUT at the same time playing with an unbike WILL help your balance in general. not saying that if u can roll on an unbike that u will roll as good on a complete...just stating that yes, it does improve your overall balance.
plus...theyre fun as SH*T!!!! ;D

My friends come over and laugh at my "half-bike"... and how silly it looks...

I laugh when they bust their respective @sses trying it out..

i don't know how much the unbike helps, but it definitly doesn't hurt your riding...
