sore elbows?
« on: June 02, 2008, 01:30:16 AM »
Im looking for some advice on dealing with sore elbows. Ive been told to try glucosamine and chondroitin. Just wondering if anybody has tried these or any other suggestions that might help. Thanks.

from a bike standpoint:

what kind of bars you use?

get some bars with more give, like 2-piece bars or maybe even 4-piece, will make it more comfy on your elbows; Hiro Morizake has the same prob.

even a frame with a softer design, with not many stiff joints and big/thick tubes, will help.

so more pieces means what? stiffer?

the extensive use of pieces in design, like joints or gussets, yeah stiffer.

also, he should get a cushioned seat. It will aide impact on the wrist then to the elbows.

Im riding some zero sweep Hoffman Momentum bars right now but have been shopping for new ones. I had considered that maybe the zero sweep was causing it but I didnt know for sure.

from an ergonomic perspective, yeah zero is probably a big factor too- and the fact those bars have no upsweep

those look good, get the 2 back and up sweep. I would recommend a cushion seat too; it has alot of ease on the arms (i totally dont recommend the odyssey 99er. that thing is near solid)

I think it would be really cool if you could start a topic with links / explanation regarding stretching.
