Diamondback Frame
« on: May 12, 2008, 11:02:11 PM »
*First of: Sorry if this is the wrong section*

Im thinking of building a street bike..Nothing serious but just to play around with. And I found this frame and fork for approx 30€ or 50$. What do you guys make of it? Would it be ok for a beginner riding some street just for fun? Personally Im not a fan of the angle at the rear top tube.  Any specs would be appreciated.

^Been messing around there since yesterday..Found a pretty nice frame on Blocket.se, no reply on my email though. But yea, mikebike will probably have a big part in my bike building. Especially since its in the same city as me..

By the way, is this a decent fork?

its an ok fork.
However the weight is more than double to those produced today .....
So it depends how strong you are.

but at 300:- you cant really go wrong

pretty sure my friend had that same diamondback frame...it got huge cracks where the platform is wwelded to the top tube..thing was a sh*t pile!!! i ended up riding the stock forks from it for some reason, and had to bash my front wheel against the ground to unbend them every 20 minutes...while riding flatland!!!

^_^Glad I didnt get it. Found a rather cheap Dragonfly frame instead. And even though Dragonfly isnt the best stuff around Im sure its better than that one. Cant wait to get it. Now I just need to decide a colour for it :P
