I drill pegs :)
« on: May 09, 2008, 03:49:07 AM »
got a set of used suelo pegs.   they weighed 1.7 pounds all 4 before.
then I drilled out 2.   need to drill the other 2
my work has a drill press.   makes it nice !

I took single drilled peg to bike shop.  theyr scale said it weighed 6oz.
and the non drilled said weighed 9 oz.   not shure how acurate their scale is tho.
any how - they feel lighter -  and look dam fine I think.
lmk what you guys think.

I think they would look better re-painted full black tho. (On the other hand, I dont know if that would affect the grip/knurling )
Btw, that was a great idea I think !

But man they looked sooooo good.

Has anyone ever tried to drill the magnesium verisons? They would be brittle as hell, but maybe if you driled the holes small enough you'd be fine. I dunno, just wondered if anyone has tried. Would do it but i dont want to end up with a shattered peg.

Funny, I had some Huck pegs about 4 yrs or so ago and drilled every other hole out even larger and actually cut the smooth ends off of the rear pegs because they were too long for my liking.

I think Basic Bikes had drilled pegs back in the day...

I ride drilled pegs now but I wish they weren't because
I really can't do much darkside tricks and my pinky finger
has been caught while grabbing the peg for a stick-b.

I'm waiting to get my first laceration/amputation...

They look good though... Nice job.

yeah the basic silencers. my friend had them. i wish i did but i do have standard hand grenades which were the same dimentions.

i dont ride pegs with holes in them because it hurts my hands the one time i had them(pegs with holes). but i think it looks awesome and is a fun cool looking way to drop a few ounces.

yes im pretty shure about 99% that the peg is weaker now
about 80% of the time
most of the time.
 ;D

I never thought about fingers getting stuck inside the holes.
that would suck alot.
