A Bad Thing new prototypes
« on: March 29, 2008, 11:16:42 AM »
Agoride published photos of four new A Bad Thing prototypes.

The Crown sprocket is made of alloy 7075, has 23 teeth and a weight of 30g = 0.06lbs.

Pivotable seat based on the MacNeil OG seat but with a new design.
Weight: 330g = 0.72lbs

A compatible alloy seat post. Weight: 210g = 0.46lbs

And to round up your bad seat setup there is a alloy seat clamp with steel inserts.

I love the white seat. Look sweeettt ;D

I have a question about pivotal seat in general. I know this is kind of off-topic, but I don't feel like its worth a new topic. They sure look great, but I expect to fall often when riding flatland. And with such an high seat-post, the seat is dying to hit the ground. Are these seat worth the money, or do they last a short time before getting destroyed ?

Have a great day

The pivotal seats are pretty damn good.  I was hesitant to get one when they first came out, because I thought the lack of option in seat position was too much of a risk.  I eventually gave in and the seat was in a good position, and the strength increase and weight decrease made it really logical to ditch the rail system we used for so long.

I've been on the pivotal system for about a year and a half now, and the seat, by design, does go through some damages.  My cover tore, and the padding ripped, but it was still structurally sound (the base).  The seatpost is still straight, which is very uncommon for me having a seat post for this long (both in duration and height).  Hell, the seat and seatpost have outlived most of the frames I've rode.

again why  doesnt someone just  make a pivotal version of the 99er seat dammit best seat  ever  they  stopped making  it so why  dont  they just pick up the idea  and make it pivotal 99er ..since most people just putting there names on other peoples designs and selling it someone do this with  the 99er lol.....oh  i love my a bad thing frame  got it the other day

i bent my 330 post in one session.  im thinking it was a hang nothing bail.  i am not, however, 100% sure i had it "under" the max height though.  i really want to try it again, and/or give my old one a good look to see if it was my fault or not.
