I think the FEJ was the best Jam nation wide and DEFINETLY on the eastern side of the nation.
It’s just kind of sad to see a dying scene that IS N.A. and a great time get lost.
I mean we only have a few contests a year worthy of travel...but FEJ was the "after the fact" soul of a once thriving North American scene. Lots of people would show up for the FEJ’s and Athens Jams before that didn’t really want to go rep skill at a contest for judges.
Voodoo was my peanut butter and FEJ was my Jam!
I’m just wondering who'd be interest in trying to put something on the weekend before or after..or hell on the same weekend.
The contest usually goes on in downtown Athens during a somewhat large rode bike race.
If people wanted to make it into some flatland week..we could hold a Jam IN Athens the weekend before or after. I was thinking it'd be difficult the same weekend to find nice large lot strictly due to the demise of Tate and with the larger rode bike race its hars to find locations. The Church I don’t think can accommodate a large group..so?
Plus the more peole that have good excuses to travel for the Jam would also provide MORe support and entry’s into a Contest which could help to grow the contest yearly.
Any ideas before we lose one of the grassroot Jams that actually prevented total rigamortis from setting into a once thriving scene.
Its funny how similar the flatland scene in North America is to THAT movie Flatliners…
“ok he’s been out for four minutes lets bring him back now”
