I think LOU4130 is the best NY rider... but he's the only one I know so... haha

My scene is WI is weak if you wanna talk about a lack of flat scene!

I'm on Long Island... I used to ride in the city when I lived in Queens... I'm down to get together on the weekends. I have ridden with lou4130 in Brooklyn and Rich in Manhattan since I got back into riding this summer. And while we are at it... Are there any riders on Long Island ?

damn i thought the NY flat crew was big
whats going on out here and last time i heard
there was 7-8 flat riders out there riding on a
regular basis.

Alex Caps moved to California to go to UCLA
and what about his brother and Kennedy quit i
have heard..thought there was some riders in Jersey
too as i know a few but are they riding anymore.

when i look in that area..Long Island, Staten Island,
Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx in the north etc and you
guys have to have riders still around and you just need
to get together more to ride.

New Jersey just across the Hudson River and there has
to still be riders in Hackensack, Newark, Jersey City,
Passaic, Kearny, Orange, Bloomfield, Union City..etc.

hell i dont even live there and know enough to know you
guys has a pretty good flat scene at one time!

when i started riding in 2000, in bk here was about 5 riders in bk alone we all rode togeher for 3 years then guys started to quit. now its only me and jeff mci left in bk..and  a kid named coolie but hes never around. and up until about 2004 there was always 4 or 5 riders in the city at union square now its nothing but street riders.the jersey guys never really want to travel they live far..bikeflat crew only comes down for jams 1nce a year, and when u speak to most guys they never want to come o bk to ride  the city really doesnt have many good spots but brooklyn does . im just hoping that me and jeff arent the last 2 hard riders left because the scene was so good.i mean id hook up with other riders but i dont own a car  makes it hard.if anyone is in the 5 boroughs  leave me p.m. or comment on this topic or something.we should all try and keep the scene in ny  well mainly nyc strong .i always thought of flat as a community  would be nice to see the neighbors lol

Hit up rochester. RIT is a big U up here. The rochester are has a few hidden guys. We ride, just not together all the time.  I'm working on promoting Flat more this winter by hooking up an indoor riding spot. If the manager goes for it, i'll be promoting all i can...indoor skating rink that has an indoor ramp park. Just no room for flat, unless we can use the skating rink.

RIT's a good school, I may be going there in two years. I live about 15-20 minutes away from there. University of Rochester's also good.

Mike, keep me updated on how it's going with Spinner's.

heh i know noone sucks,  ijust said that cuz boosted said i was the best rider in NY..lol, and that sure isnt the truth.hahaha.  Unfortunately i cant ride as much as id like, but i do get lots of enjoyment out of it even tho im not that skilled yet, and thats all that matters!

i know jeff, but i dont get out to the city to ride much, its easier for me around here, i have a few spots i ride that arent too far. no car, so i gotta ride to my spots.

i dont know of any indoor spots for the winter, but im interested in finding oned. i always have an ear open...ill let you know if i find anything

I'm in NNJ, (W. Orange to be exact)...  If you guys are going to get together to ride i'll try my best to get to the city.  It would be much easier on weekends but i'm over there during the week very often..  My brother rides too so he would likely be there too..  let me know..

id love to come up and ride this weekend, but unfortunately i promised to do some work and get paid sat and sun.
i keep sayin it-i gotta get to NYC soon! ill let everyone know when we will be in the city and i like ive said b4-we can have an unnoficial jam go down.
oh yea...if any of u guys can make it to Jersey, my friends Jon Ortiz and Kool-Aide know an indoor spot to ride winters in.
its at a YMCA in i think Maplewood,NJ. the place they had the "king of queens" comp at a few years back.
alot has changed since i got back into flatland. the NY/NJ scene used to be pretty damn strong back in the day but for whatever reasons over the years it has fallen apart. i agree we need to start gettin together and being family again. street riders in NY/NJ are still tight-knit...why arent us flat riders? it makes no sense.
lets make that shyt happen!
u few guys that sent me digits to ride...please resend the info with a NAME i can call u by other than a screen name.lol
peace!

HEYA IT IS UP TO YOU GUYS TO GET THE SCENE BACK
UP AND GOING..FIND AN CENTRALIZED PLACE AND START
GETTING TOGETHER TO RIDE..SOMEONE OR SOME PEOPLE
NEED TO STEP UP AND GET RIDERS TOGETHER AGAIN.

i use to know New York had a real good flatland scene
and i dont even live there...ok!

hey bro...NY had a killer scene all thru the late 80s and 90s. alot of guys would meet up at Mullaly Park or Union Square daily. Mullay isnt the best place to ride flat anymore tho. its become bumpy and has sooo many more ramps than it used to. but Union Square is still good. its surprising how quickly the scene died down. i wasnt riding for most of the later 90s and earlier 2k because of back issues, but alot of my friends still were and from what they say, the scene was kickin just a few short years ago. i believe if we all really put in some effort that the NY/NJ flat scene could be back alive and kickin in no time.
whaddaya say people!?!? i know theres still many awesome riders out there as well as many up n comers, plus us few that are just gettin back into it that can make this scene whats up.

yeah exactly budz
someone needs to step up and get this
sessions going again and it is up to you
guys to get the New York/New Jersey sessions
going and even once a month for awhile and if that
goes well start having it twice a month.

COME ON SOMEONE STEP UP AND GET THE SCENE
GOING AGAIN!

Best NY riders?  Joe Gruttola, Chris Obermeyer and the legendary John Silvestri.

I should be able to ride friday night at Union Square.

Matt, I'll be around Sunday morning.  When you getting in?

Hey Flaland Flow, you live near Union Square?  I live in midtown and need someone to motivate me to go ride at night.  If I know you'll be there, I'll definitely drag my ass out there.

DAMN... Rich... Chris Obermeyer, I haven't heard that name in years... I haven't seen him since the late 80's I used to ride with him in Queens. I hear stories about Gruttola here and there, and John I haven't seen since the mid 90's. And while throwing out some old schoolers... George Gallo messaged me the other day about getting together for a session.

i even heard from a friend that he saw one of our old Newark flat buds walkin down Broad St in Newark with some tires in his hand. maybe he will get back into ridin too!? thatd be sweet!

my car isnt doin too good to drive an hour plus to north jerz and then into NYC. and then theres my road rage against stoopid drivers and stuff.lol

Sure Budz, no prob...  only thing.. i have a JP Wrangler w/no bike rack and if my bro goes too we may have to figure out a way to get all bikes & what not packed...  last time, i got caught in a DUI checkpoint and it took more than 1.5hrs to get through the Holland..  hit me up though..

i ahd just gotten to one of my spots to ride and as soon as i got there i got rained out a few hours ago. i came home and clicked on the weather channel and they are callin for rain thru Friday. sux.
my car is still dead so i wouldnt be able to get to NYC anyway.
my cousin is supposed to come fix it, but he can be very unreliable sometimes.
hope 2 make it up there soon.
