Lets see what's up at Interbike this year...
-
One of the bigger flatland surprises at Interbike this year is the return of Fishbone.
It seems that at first impression they are focused on the "retro" market with the new "Kong Fu 2" frame, a new version of there classic Kong Fu frame kit.
Something else new is the SAD"Y"DLE seat, you can catch a glimpse in the pic.

SUBROSA
A couple of interesting things from Subrosa,
some funky seats in Pivotal and Tripod:
-
... and the Big Bitchin Cranks!
these got bigger and stronger with a 22mm spindle,
available in 165mm, 170mm and 175mm,
with or without boss for 22mm spline sprockets
-
... and check out these sparkly grips....

From Sunday, we also have some colorful seats in Tripod and Pivotal
-
Looks like the complete Thundercoaster Freecoaster wheel from Sunday,
and affordable Thunder and Lightening rims,
and some new color grips:
-
Look at all the seats Odyssey has... vintage styles and whacky Galaxy ...
-
Tom Dugan signature pedals in metal or plastic,
and matching Galaxy pedals...
-
And finally, the Odyssey Freecoaster!
some close up pics reveal a interesting feature...
slide that silver cover on the hub shell and an opening is revealed to adjust the slack!
-
SE with its retro bikes...
-
It's Odyssey 30th anniversary so they have a collab with Vans,
sneakers that match those seats
"85 'Til Infinity" Odyssey X Vans
-
Mutiny Cinch cranks V2, updated to 22mm spline,
and soon available in 165mm size!
-
Same as last year, Bone Deth have the 48 hole hubs and rims!
-
... and the Bottom feeder forks with mounts!
-
... scales seat and burning rubbers
-
Shadow will also offer the Raptor freecoaster in a complete wheel:
-
Shadow has also gone with crazy seat covers, of course both pivotal and Tripod...
-
...and they have figured a way to reduce production costs on the Supreme Chain and it will soon be out,
for around 49 USD
-
... and here is a new pedal concept they are working on....
metal core with plastic plates that bolt on...
-
It seems Shadow is always up to new ideas, another one they are working on is a new rubber compound for there grips, soft but long lasting,
on the left side the new CDR grips compared to the regular grips on the right side, both with 2 months of use:
-
AME's for the old folks
-
TREE has to have woodgrain...
-
BOOM, here it is, the Profile Z Coaster, when will it be ready?
-
Looks like the CULT freeecoaster wasn't working well... here is the revised V2
-
4 piece bars are back ... and BIG, CULT QUATRO 8.65" & 9"
12° back sweep and 4° up sweep
-
the new FLY Springhanger brake is ready for production, no springs on the low profile arms.

I can't stop to feel very sad for the Fishbone owner when I see that frame and all these things on the table...

I can't stop to feel very sad for the Fishbone owner when I see that frame and all these things on the table...
He knows what he is doing, he has gotten feedback and interest in bringing back those original fishbone parts. I know it doesn't seem a good business plan but it's his company...
-
but it's his company...
sure thing
-
A few more pics of the Profile Z Coaster
-
polished Madeira Mast stem
-
Fiend also has a freecoaster in the works...
-
Kink has some great stuff,
Senec bushing pedals,
skinny steel spline sprockets,
stealth pivotal post (tightens underneath),
and a cool CD sprocket to celebrate 20 years!
-
... and of course they also have a freecoaster!

I wonder what it's like showing up to an event as a company where like 90% of the products are all made from the same mold and lack anything resembling a new idea.

I think the only real thing that has changed, is Sam's hair growth!
Dude looks rad!
-
In today's competitive market companies have to use the same big manufacturers to keep production costs down and that also helps them in the mainstream trend setting as well.
You still see many brands coming up with new ideas but it usually takes a long time for them to figure out a way to lower the production costs.
-
In today's competitive market companies
It's not competitive. There's no competition for ideas or designs, it's just image. It's almost entirely about image at this point. Which "crew' do you want to associate yourself with or what kind of brand identity do you want to conform to. The "industry" is a f*cking joke.
-
Your right, I meant competitive in terms of sales.

The return of fishbone is about the most interesting thing this yr!
Thanks for the all the pics and info
-
A closer look at that Fishbone seat -
-
^^^strewth, is there a market for such hideousness still..?
-
a 1pc, all metal seat and post ?
I can't help but wonder how comfortable that would be.
-
^^^strewth, is there a market for such hideousness still..?
There is a growing midschool collector community that is interested in these types of parts.
-

there was also a railed version on display -
I'm not sure what the idea behind that seat is, but seeing as it's low mounted on the frame I would suspect it's not made to sit on...
