Hi guys, do you guys still remember your 1st bmx trick? How long does it takes you to learn? I'm learning my 1st bmx trick - peg wheelie and i read it suppose to be the easiest one but 2 weeks of practicing and yet no sucess. Lol.
-
Yep peg wheelies on my ride to school each day.
If your just starting out it may seem to be taking a while. But it will happen.
And will lead you onto the next trick.
-
It was a footjam tailwhip.
I hate that trick to this day more than any other trick I've ever done. I never want to do one again. It's not even easy for me NOW.
-
my first real trick was 180s haha i could barely roll out of them
-
Yeah, great question!
-half barspin, then barspin on flat, second was 180 and wheelie.
Footjam Tailspin was late, there was no pegs and no gyro back in that time (however pegs dont needed 4 that).
Brakeless was the only option to do full barspins..lol
We made pegs of a large bright nut or double nut plus a funky screw on the axle, wich always bent like sh3.. ..funky stuff..haha
Cheers!!!
-eyh, sorry -first trick was wheelie on a collapsible bike with backrake..HAHAHAhaaaaaa
CEERS ..whyeah, that thread bring back good memories!!!!
-yeah, little drunk at the moment, but nice one:
Remember.., we took off the brakes to make a full barspin because of the cable stop the bars...
-edit: f* cable!!!
...yeah! -cheers again!!! (...ummg)
-
Remembering now once having a belly full off fish and chips and tring my first decade. Ate sh*t and never really wanted to do them again.
-
First trick was half a bar spin, the same night I tried footjam tailwhips didn't land one for over a year! Was spinning the bars 3 full spins at one point! I was like the king of bar spins :) . . . . then hop bars came about.
-
TJ! I couldn't agree with you more. I still have scars on my right toe. Curse Bryan Blyther for ever inventing it in the first place. Hahahahaha

This was my first trick too, and I feel the same way haha.
-
Track stand or endo; I'm not sure which came first. Once pegs came out, I think it was probably back wheel hops.
-
O yeah. Endos. Had to be endos.
Then nofoot endos. Double can endos. Pendulum endos.
-
Yes, Fork glide and forward&backward steamrollers. I remember it like it was yesterday, because i learned it yesterday. Im a newbie.
-
Frame stands,rock walks,endos!
-
barspin with one foot on the pedal and the other foot on the peg! took all day to get but once i landed it i was hooked!
-
no handed riding, curb endo's and toe jam endos for me. but as far as a "real" trick it was framestands.
I agree with TJ JM & Wesbmx'r too! I shredded many a toe and many pairs of vans slip ons doing foot jam tailwhips. The brake bolt would always get me!
-
Endos and pogos for me....ah memories.
-
It would be a track stand but with both feet standing on some skyway mags. It was on my cousins Predator. I didn't even have a bmx yet, but did have a schwinn stingray. I realized really fast a bmx is what I wanted to ride..
-
My first was a barspin.
-
Well, managed to do my 1st 1/2 Barspin today. After 3 weeks of trying to do peg wheelie (which i only manage to hang on for max of 2secs ??? ), i decided to try Barspin. Although it's a very simple skill but i felt great! B)
-
I definitely remember doing endos first, but I was doing those on any bike I could. Theres one time that is vivid from when I did it on my friend's new moutain bike and destroyed my groin...
The first time I remember thinking, 'yeh I did a proper trick' might have been a bunny hop no-footer.
-
FootJam Endo, then progressed to Curb Endos. Still fun to do...
-
Trackstand :D ,then bar spin, manuals O0 O0
-
Do you still remember your first BMX trick? That's the topic of an ongoing discussion in our forum. There are already many replies but want to hear from more of you. So dig deep in your memories and tell us... what was it? Peg manual on the way to your friends house? Bar spin in the backyard? Forkglide on that bumpy supermarket parking lot? You can reply in the forum or leave us a comment on Facebook or Twitter. We're looking forward to your replies!

bunny hops and wheelies until the freestyling mags came out then it was the miami hopper or cherry & pedal picker that was the first actual cool tricks I learned from the step by step how too's! Back in the day boy! Mid 80's
-
My roots started growing from poppin' wheelies and hoppin' curbs, still do both erryday...
-
Endo… but first real flatland trick : funky chicken O0
-
wheelies and riding no hands, then got my first freestyle bike, endo then bar endo. first endos learned were foot jam style even though i had front brakes.. ;D
