Title: Attention riders in Norcal! Bike thief in your area!
Post by: PSchoolen on March 27, 2013, 07:22:47 PM
Attention riders in Northern California! Does anyone know a guy in your area (possibly from Richmond) riding a black Colony Apprentice complete bike? Maybe with an Odyssey Rucksack backpack on him? He stole both of these from flatlandfuel and we need some help getting him arrested. In all he stole over $1000 from flatlandfuel. Riders do not steal from other riders and $1000 is a LOT of money to a small shop like flatlandfuel.

Flatland is a small community so somebody will know this guy. I wont go into specifics but it was a sophisticated theft that thwarted all security features of the credit card companies. I, the merchant, am still 100% liable though. The chances of getting the bike or money back are very slim but I am hoping a rider in norcal knows the guy and can put a little pressure or guilt on him. No violence though Juggs. We dont need that.

That sucks Pat. I hope he gets caught. I'd suggest those living in the states keep an eye on e-bay and craigslist as well.  Keep in mind people that others have Colony completes too, and it would be a shame if a rider who genuinely purchased a Colony got accused of stealing the one from FF.

May I suggest a photo and story to go up on facebook as well and we can make it go viral. It might get the word out further and faster. Good luck Pat.

Pat. There is nothing worse than a thief.  That being said, I have seen other business calling people out through social networking sites but only using their initials. ...could this be applied here? As stated above it would be a real shame to have a beginner get blamed for something he has not done such as this.

That was my point guys, without a face or name, how can this person be apprehended?  This "Some guy on a mass produced bike that might be the one" stuff will never work, UNLESS!!!! He's going around bragging. I believe "it's worth a shot" throwing it on the Internet, ,But if he/she was smart enough to get through all this "Security", then said bike doesn't look the same anymore ,nor are they riding around with a Ruksack full of FF goodies and a Sign on their back...The Devils in the Details. Why would you think you have to hide their identity if you know who Stole from you. This Idea of C.M.A. by not naming them will only cost time. I can Almost put money on the fact that if you name them with addy, you'll nab them.. And Karl, I cant speak for Aussie crooks, but if they were after money, they wouldn't go thru all that to buy something, to turn around and sell it for the beans we get on CL or Ebay, they'd of just took a cash advance Bro..Crooks need street justice and Yes, a good beatdown always...ALWAYS leaves a lasting impression. Why treat a criminal with kid gloves? A grown ass man Knows the difference btween Right and Wrong..no? ???

And... Theft will cost all of the honest people in the end...thats part of the reason Ins. on most things is so high..It's trickle down guys/gals. if ya find them, BEAT them down and post a you tube vid...People will think TWICE!! It keeps future happenings down, you post up, "I just got robbed," you are now a mark for copycats. or am I wrong?

Right and wrong....don't need an address but pat seriously I feel that if there just isn't some sort of intials to have these guys go off of some innocent person may get hurt....although I do like you F B post about blowing some money and showing up at his door =)

His initials wont help because I dont even know that his name is real. The only concrete piece of info is the address where the bike was delivered. If a norcal local that I know and trust wants to drive by then I will give them the address privately. This guy lifted a credit card number in person. That means he was most likely a waiter at a restaurant or something similar. There are very few opportunities to get  CVC code from a credit card. So if I can figure out WHO the thief is then we can figure out WHERE he works and get him fired. If I can confirm he lives at the address the bike was delivered to then I can at least let his neighbors know that a thief lives there. Maybe even get him arrested with all of that info. My money and bike are probably gone forever but if I can prevent this guy stealing from someone else then I will feel a little better.

Thank you Mutt. I have talked to Pete and he has his eye out. How should I contact you if I want to give you the address the bike was delivered to? Maybe that can help us identify the thief.

I just got back into riding...as you know I am fighting some serious
health issues in respiratory, lung and also issues with COPD and
ENDISM along others..so sorry I did not see this post earlier.

1) This makes us Nor-Cal flatland riders look bad and one bad apple
does this and I talked to OSG and others about this matter and we are
all keeping our eyes out for this bike and person.

2)There are some 24 of us flatlanders in Nor-Cal and I know everyone
who flatland here and OSG pretty much knows everyone too..as he and
I hang out and ride together a lot...so he rode with many of these other
Nor-Cal riders.

3)Richmond is a very rough and also high crime area of the Bay Area
and was known for awhile to be on even grounds with Oakland with the
amount of murders and high crime a year.130-150 murders. It is interesting
that the address goes back to there,as it is obvious the person probably does
not live there, but knows a person or a person they are in league with these
credit card frauds they are doing. It is obvious probably they are using this same
Richmond address as a stash house or one that packages can be delivered
to,that no one would notice anything weird going on,since they do not want
to bother in getting shot or stabbed,if they paid notice to these packages.
a real ghetto or very high crime area would be the perfect cover to have
such packages delivered..with someone watching the house when the one
package arrives..having got the delivery info in tracking numbers and the
delivery date and the two times  in between it will be delivered.

4)It is also a possibility the complete bike was not bought to just turn around
to sell, since flatland is not a real popular sport or activity and especially here
in Nor-Cal,with only 24 or so flatlanders here. This person might be a flatland
enthusiasts and used his friends or partners in credit card scams and fraud
for him to get a bike. The percentage of turn around sales is low,but again it
can not be ruled out, this with the price of the bike and products ordered.

5)Restaurant Waiters, bartenders and any shop employees can take a credit
card and then get the information off of it in numbers, but the CVC numbers
and access # are hard to get off.The other possibility is a scam, which they
used a friends credit card and then reported it stolen and the credit card
company, refunds the money back into the credit card account and all of the
product is still with them.this would explain the access but again people are
pretty savvy at credit card fraud..can get the numbers.

6) It has been reported in the local papers here,of credit card fraud and scam
groups in the Bay Area and a lot are in the Oakland and Richmond areas, which
are the lowest income and well ghettos of the Bay Area.I am not surprised at
all, this one credit fraud or scam was based in Richmond and people are just
very desperate for money or not spending money..as this one person seemed
to see flaws in your credit card system somehow, probably being savvy in the
computers and doing frauds,as he took advantage of the flaws. I would really
want to look at your credit card system now and you can afford another one
like this at $1,000.00.You heard of drifters in the 1920's-1940's and they were
gangs of scam artists and frauders during the great depression and they really
flourished during real bad times...it is not as bad now..but they are out there!

I am no SHERLOCK HOLMES...but these are what  I talked to OSG about and
we agreed that a lot of this is accurate and might be the case of this incident.
We will keep our eyes out for the bike and there are several Nor-Cal flatland
events coming up and I do not think the person will be dumb enough to show
up at these events with the bike, but you never know.
