Title: Ares Boo Four Freecoaster and Front Hub
Post by: Mr News Bot on January 22, 2013, 12:18:38 PM

Ares also updated their coasters. The new freecoaster and front hub are called Boo Four. They come with a 10mm axle, 36 holes and a 9T driver for the freecoaster. The front hub weighs 227 g / 0,5 lbs and the freecoaster 487 g / 1.07 lbs. Both hubs will be available later this year (it says spring on the Ares website).

From Brakeless: "... the new version of the Boo2 freecoaster hub from Aresbikes. It is not only the look that changed, Aresbikes also made some changes on the inner life of the freecoaster. The hub will be available this year in Europe. More infos coming soon!"

From the looks of it both the hubshell and axle hardware haven't change from the Ares Boo 2/Taska U-Free design so I'd guess it's the same hub with a different logo for the new year.

For what it's worth, I bought my Ares Boo 2 in 2009 and haven't needed to open it up once. Flawless operation since I laced it up.

^ Thats the sort of thing i like to hear! KHEs are easy to work on but i constantly f*ck up the bearings (mostly in the driver) Nankai hubs are a little harder to work on but seem to out last any KHE rubbish. Ive heard nothing but good about the U-Free/Boo set ups, plus i really like the raw/silver colour looks like it would match up to the raw Tree hub quite well!

I have a minor complaint regarding my new Ufree , it does have a slight bit of side2side play.
Really tightening the cone nuts has done little to remedy this either.

Ditto, and makes noise. How long have you have your taska?

I opened mine, and I found the bearing (non-drive side) is loose, maybe replace the bearing can fix it. But i'll wait for Ezra or buy a new taska.
