strong tubular flatland 2.5-pc crank  19 mm heat treated cr-mo hollow axle  150 mm heat treated cr-mo round arms  pin drive for micro sprockets  smooth edges at axle area, with flush bolt on left side  right side drive only

anyone tried this one??

saw it @ the lbs when it was released; didn't think it was great for the following issues:

1) short spindle - less then half of the spindle will sit within the left side arm if you run 5mm thick sprockets and have 10mm clearence between arms and chainstays.

2) the spindle  has a larger O.D. on the drive side if i remember correctly - can't use splined sprockets.
that said, some local riders "flipped" the arms so that they can run spline sprockets on the left arm/ left spindle side on the right-hand side of the bike; pedals has to be locktight-ed to prevent loosening - a bitch to do maintence on due to the threads being reversed.

3) limited choices, can only use 2.5 type of crank arms on the drive side due to spindle, i think they fell out of flavour as i don't see as many companies producing them anymore.

4) don't see any advantage over the normal 3-pc spline cranks design and 2pc spline version.

how about this??? do this have an edge like Profile cranks???

what do you mean by "edge like profile cranks"?

do you mean the spindle boss on the crank arms?

if 155mm length arms suits you,  i think they will do just fine; can always upgrade later.

i mean can it be fitted with those non ST martin SPLINED SPROCKETS?? like tree splined or profile sprockets??

the advert says "19mm spline spindle", most splined sprockets should fit; not to sure of the length of the evo og. spindle.
profile spindle for bmx's are usually 5 5/8" in length, while spindles from other manufacturers (taiwan) are most often 5 1/4", which is okay but watch your spacer usage.

i believe i read from somewhere that it's best to have 3/4 to 1/2 of the spindle left within the crank arm's spindle boss? from my own experience, taiwanese made titanium spindle are slighty smaller - making installation easier as the crank arms slide on; if there's less than 1/2 of the spindle within the arms, the tendency is of it to rattle loose.

the manufacturer of the evo says that it's axle has 130mm length... so is it enought to be fitted with a 8mm thick tree splined sprocket??

I wouldn't worry as typically on flat bikes with smaller sprockets you can get away with a shorter spindle since it doesn't have to clear the chainstays. A larger sprocket would need that extra spacer in there.

yup, like what metalbmxer said - doable.

just watch your spacers - 130mm is around 5 1/8".

ahh ok.. tree splined sprocket is very thick thats why i came into considerations.... hiihhii
