Both looking good!
My vote is with Saverio. Great variety on both front wheel and back.
Forwards and reverse tricks.
Great stuff from both riders though!

well said
Great stuff from both riders though!

pretty hard to decide i watched the videos 4 times.
my vote goes to saverio, i really liked a couple of original ideas he had.
good job from both of them.
-
Vote goes to Saverio by a very slim margin..
Saverio used the time limit a little better, and for that reason he was able to get a little more variety into the 50 sec. Although tough to be creative as a beginner, it did look like he was already doing things a bit his own way. I know it was only pushing to get the bike rolling, but in the future don't put touches to the ground in your run...
Jose nice steam and one hand funky, nicely executed whiplash, some nice difficulty there..
Really good job by both riders!
-
Like Saviero's style! hope Jose's uses his time better next time
-
KHEmatteo gets my vote. simba987654 keep at it you will get there I remember my days doing those tricks... fun times!
-
Vote goes to KHEmatteo, nice stuff!
Enjoyed seeing simba's run, props! Probably the youngest competitor in the online battles as far as I can remember. Keep it up simba!
-
Vote goes to Matteo for just better variety and harder tricks, which is kind of tricky in beginner.
Simba though, gotta ask, how old are you?
-
He is 13 years old and comes from Europe, Latvia too, so yeah, representing new riders.

great tricks.
-
Matteo again. Looking really solid!
Great to see Simba taking part at such a young age.
-
I don't thing KHEmatteo rides as a beginner,
that's too hard timemachine variation and rotations.

pretty hard to decide but my vote goes to kcflat i really loved his barhop rollback and back to forkglide.
i'm also not sure if the last link of erlon is closed because he did the cut in the edit in a point that gave me the impression that he probably had to put down the left foot to roll away.
not sure but the fact that it's cutted give me a doubt.
-
great battle here--good tricks from both
-
Vote goes to KcflatPhils
KcflatPhils - around a 4 rotation mc circle started with hand on seat and finished withhands on grips and a cyclone rideout. Nice switch foot mc circle w/ no kick of tire for a bit over one rotation and jumped to regular mc circle w a small turbine and a firehydrant rideout. I liked the no hand thing to backwards barhop, I kinda thought of that as his beginner big jump trick.. Barhops are a beginner trick, but things can go bad fast if you don't make it.. Also he started up a mc circle from a straight line, showing some skills there. Also a three turbined mc circle w/ kicks, and a small funky chicken w anothe cyclone rideout..
Erlon Oliveira - liked the footjam 180 to smoothie to cyclone, looked stylish but not that difficult. He did a no kick w/ one wide rotation mc circles. A one kick, a bit over 1 rotation megaspin jumped to boomerang w/ cyclone out, looked nice. Another no kick 1 wide rotation mc circle jumped to cyclone and then jumped back to forkwheelie to a short switch foot fork wheelie, rodeout with laying bike down.. Although I wouldn't take any points off for laying the bike down, and I do consider it pulled, I have never been a fan of dumping the bike for a rideout...
In the end KcflatPhils had harder stuff with that switchfoot mc circle, multiple turbines, multiple rotations with some good contol, multiple rideouts, some big jump type stuff. Although Erlon's video was really good and was also was filmed better, how it was filmed does not determine the run. Although all videos should be filmed well enough to see whats happening, obviously.
-
I vote KcflatPhils. great stuff from both. I like what I am seeing keep it up guys.
-
I vote for KcflatPhils, i really like his mc circles variations and he has nice rideouts.
Erlon has also really nice frontwheel tricks and he has a lot of control.
I hope KcflatPhils shows us some other tricks and maybe a nice backwheel trick in his next video if he wins this battle :)
keep going both guys, you are great riders and i'm stoked to see some new videos of you 2 :)
-
Really close this one. My vote is with kcflat.
The mc circles looked really comfortable, lots of style. Loved the bar hop too.
Though technically both are really very close I just felt there was a bit more flow to kcflats runs.
Superb stuff!
-
Shouldn't KCFlatPhils be intermediate?

Yes... I agree with you guy

The battles are looking good, hope everyone is having fun watching how they progress towards the end (i am)!
To Lam47: Not sure why you cannot play Flatcarrot's clip. I tried to view it on my Samsung Galaxy S+ phone, and it plays for me. KHEmatteo's clip however won't play for me on my phone, as he didn't make it viewable on mobile devices. Lucky i got a ASUS notebook for such problems!!! B)
Good luck to all riders competing! Peace from Hungary! :)

I will pop out tomorrow and buy a PC ;)
I can go to my brothers tomorrow and watch it there.
-
Hey Reinis, how do you pronounce your name? Great riding btw.
-
First of all, I am not a fan of crankless. Flatcarrot, please get cranks as soon as you possibly can. Also don't show yourself pushing off for speed in your vid, it highlights the no cranks even more. I am not going to take anything away from his run because of crankless though, after all this is beginner.
As for Reinis, I believe he cheated. I am urging all judges to turn off there speakers, everyone knows that fast moving riding to that song makes the flatland look more awesome. I joke, of course!
Tough choice here, but I'm going with Flatcarrot for my vote.
Flatcarrot almost covers Reinis entire run, and then some in one uncut combo. He has a one rotation wide mc circle to the no hand backwards thing (although this doesn't have the wow factor that Reinis surfer type trick does, the difficulty isn't all that different.) combo continues to a forkwheelie with both hands on grips, then one handed then grab the seat and then both feet on pegs. without a cut he does a 720 on backwheel, and then the full barspin with front wheel really high. Although his hang five is short, a hangfive is one of the hardest tricks to learn as a beginner.
Flatcarrot, i would like to challenge you to show a longer hangfive in your next battle, if you get through this one of course. Don't feel obligated, you could do what ever you want if you get by this battle, but I would enjoy seeing the improvement.
Reinis, I really liked your run, liked the surfer type thing, and the one quick backwheel megaspin with a small turbine even in it! Had that 2nd trick had a forkwheelie, or something more to it I think my vote would be different...

my vote is for Flatcarrot maybe because i watched the videos without music :P .
-
Flatcarrot.
Though I did enjoy Reinis' run more (I think because it was a lot easier to see)
Flatcarrot's run was technically better. A lot more time spent on one wheel. No handed variations etc.
Not having cranks I still find really weird, but each to their own.
Just getting up into the hang five was great! I'm glad you decided to include it.
Reinis is riding really clean, which I like a lot!
Given a few months more practice you could well have taken it.
Great riding all round.

I take off cranks because they are VERY heavy, but now I ride with them.

No Way i can't believe that crankless rider will win. ;D
-
my vote goes to Reinis.
-
Although I would encourage all riders to have cranks, but don't feel you need to because of other peoples opinions, such as mine or anyones. You should do what you want to, and what is fun for you.
The weight thing is one of the biggest arguments why crankless is easier, also they are not there to get in your way. For the tricks you were doing I didn't see that cranks would have got in your way at all, so that didn't matter much. The weight thing may change some of those tricks slightly, the biggest difference in your run would be popping up into the hangfive.
On another note, I wasn't criticizing Reinis music selection, I actually really like that song and was just having fun. Just didn't want Reinis taking that wrong.. :)

What song is that...I liked it too.
Lookin' good guys...Flatcarrot, cranks...yes, do what is fun for you...but the tricks are so much more impressive when it is a full bike! You can do all those tricks with cranks I bet!
-
I once had a 2 month crankless flatland period, and i must say it was one of my worst experiences! For me having that much weight reduced off the bike, it screwed up most balance points for some tricks. Like for a Hang5 i used to push way too big on the handlebar, made myself flip over lots haha! Although i did not find crankless flat fun, that doesn't make it a bad experience for everyone. Affording a 1pc crank doesn't equal with a 2 or 3pc. Luckily when i got my St.Martin Wells V2 setup together, i only had to put my bro's old 3pc WTP crank into it! I would probably go crankless since if it wasn't there for me to use!
So there can be lots of causes why some people go crankless, but at the end of the day, we all enjoyed freestyle, with or without cranks!
Last but not least, i would like to say: both Flatcarrot and Reinis did great for beginners, keep progressing!

My vote goes to Edgars! I knew that if my time comes, i'll get put up against someone who rides better and the video shows that really well. Somehow i wasn't confident about my qualification video ??? (i hoped to survive the 1st round, so i could make a better edit), if only i had put more time in recording stuff, but time was short. Oh well, better luck next time! :P
-
Edgars gots my vote.
-
This one is really close!
I think if Norbon had included a couple more tricks I would have voted for him.
However Edgars has a little more control and variation. Though he really needs to pull his trousers up to realise his full potential.
My vote is for Edgars.
-
My Vote is for Edgars
Nice opening megaspin, 4 full barspin doublefoot pegwheelie, liked the 180 bunny on the pegs to 180 slider out.
Liked Norbon2wheels opening trick, and his run, but didn't reach the difficulty level of Edgars.
What song is that...I liked it too.
Lookin' good guys...Flatcarrot, cranks...yes, do what is fun for you...but the tricks are so much more impressive when it is a full bike! You can do all those tricks with cranks I bet!

Agree, tricks look better on a full bike!

More originality and looked more dialed.
Also longer combos..

its the battle of the black bikes.....
onno--liked your links
especially the second one--you gave me some good ideas!
-
My vote goes to Dug
Onno- I do like the cyclone jumped all the way over to the front end on the otherside of the bike (brakeless too), and the no hand to switch hands to ride out of next cyclone. Also like your one kick turbine megaspin directly to the front wheel. I don't think it is enough to take the win from dug. But you are making your riding stand out at a beginner level, so huge props for that!
Dug- Has more variety with forward and backwards tricks. He has that nice forward steamroller, switch foot one hand mc circle (although not far, still difficult). He also has alot of touches to his run such as getting to the pedals before his front wheel touches down when he did the backwheel trick. A mc circle.
-
my vote goes to dug,
really nice battle guys.
-
Onno, I like the way you move around the front of the bike! Your variations of a fork glide are really good.
The cyclone looked good too.
Dug, I liked the long smooth steamroller! The switch mc circle was really nice.
(just looked at flattech's post and realised mine is almost the same :) )
My vote is for Dug.
Looked really in control and clean.
-

Crdnl818 gets my vote.
Schena has some great tricks! The hang five is particularly good, but crdnl just had more variety. Also I feel his level was technically a little higher.

Flatcarrot - I really like the cranks, and it did look like that hangfive is getting a little better :)
Also nice tailwhip. And starting some double footed stuff, with the short halfhiker.
KCflatPhils - starts with a steam roller, directly to mc circles.
-then mc circle holding seat w/ fire hydrant out.
-nice turbine mc circle after that
-single pinky tailwhip (good start to getting multiples)
-A three barspin pegwheelie
-Ending with a switch foot forkwheelie jumped with rear wheel still up to regular one then mccircle
I'm giving this vote to KCflatPhils.
-

edgars--nice run--gave me some ideas of things to work on--liked your time machine especially
-
ondo this should be the quarterfinals not the qualification battle.
My vote goes to dug
I liked Edgars 180 bunny on the pegs to slider out, hangfive, the no kick single peg wheelie turbine to short timemachine. Riders are allowed 1 min. in the quarterfinals, so I would have liked to see Edgars make a little better use of the time. (only had about 40 sec. if you break it down)
dug had the one hand to X hand wide mc circle, switch foot mc circle, switch foot one kick turbine megaspin, switch foot/switch hand inside pegwheelie, whiplash jumped to the frame, Backwards wheelie w/ 1/2 barspin and one hand, steamroller both with hand on seat and both hands on grips. Dug fit more into the run.
My vote may have went to Edgars if another trick or two was put in the video because he did have some good stuff, but after much thought and comparing everything in the runs, I'm saying dug.
-
Good videos from both, but my vote goes to dug. He takes it with lot more variety and some difficulty.
-
Dug gots my vote and like Flattech said a lil more and he would have gotten beaten.
-
Great variations from Dug. He gets my vote.

Hey, I'm back from BMX Worlds, sorry, I was away for that long, but you know offline > online.
now to the battles.
really nice one from both of riders! CRDNL showed some more difficulty with the hang 5 and steamroller variations, so my vote goes to CRDNL818.
Walt is that you on 0:45 with that hang5 whiplash ?! Sorry it's just hard to recognize, must be the different haircut ! ;)
-
My vote is for CRDNL818.
I liked how there was a bunch of things that you really had to look for in CRDNL818's run to notice, but increased the difficulty by a bunch. Such as the manual jumped to a pegwheelie, on the last barspin of the doublefooted peg wheelie he caught it one hand and then kept the trick rolling one handed, jumping into the hangfive from the pedals is tons harder then a regular ride in and he does the hangfive one handed, ankledeath elbowglide, doublefoot onehand steam, barspin to barspin back and then the barhop from the back pegs increases the difficulty of that ending trick.
Walt had nice stuff too with the hangfive to whiplash, the short pedal five, turbine into backwards peg wheelie w/ barspin.
Nice battle vids by both!
-
CRDNL818 goes through also he put down more stuff with more difficulty but very nice from both

pretty hard to decide, i watched the videos a lot of times but my vote is for KCflatPhils.
-
Tough choice.
I really like how KHEmatteo is changing up his videos with different tricks and skills, even in the beginner class. His turbine switch hand steam is way more difficult then KcflatPhils steam tricks, and it shows him pushing switch hand steams much further then in his qualification battle. Matteo has a bit more variety with more backwheel, the 360 B hop at speed, the short no hand halflash, 6 rotation megaspin, 2 no kick turbine peg wheelie (1 doublefooted). Matteo's Foward Karl to halfhiker holding the tire, is more difficult then Phil's hangfive.
Although KCflatPhils steam tricks don't stand up to the difficulty of matteo's steams, Phil's mc circle tricks with multiple turbines are better then the Mc circle matteo showed. KC had a nice hangfive. KC's mc circle starting switchfoot and jumped to regular was nice. 3 barspin pegwheelie. KC's rideout at 1:05 was questionable, but he was on the pedals.
After much consideration, I'm giving my vote to KHEmatteo.
Great battle vids by both !
-
Really nice battle, a hard decision..
My vote goes to KHEmatteo.
The difficulty level was really close, Matteo took it with some more variety and more interesting links. Props to both riders!
-
Sorry for the late vote.

KHEmatteo vs KCflatPhils (3:2)

Sorry, was away to Estonia and couldn't update. Thanks for the videos guys!
-
Nice CRDNL818 I liked that manual to hang five
-
my vote is for dug.
he put some originality in his run and did some nice passages.
i read that the CRDNL818 video was made really fast but in some parts it's almost incomprehensible and since this is a video competition i think that the video should be made clear, i know that this should not take away points because the judgement is made on riding but it was really hard to watch.
-
Sorry guys my computer broke so I had no way to charge my video camera.... So i had to film with my phone
-
Props to CRDNL818 for not letting this go to an uncontested win. The video quality is really poor and is difficult to see but I'm fairly certain that CRDNL818 didn't quite make the ride out at 13 sec. LOL ! As michelle said being a video contest clearer footage would be nice but points shouldn't really be taken away from the riding. However with a video run, it should be the tricks done in the way you would want them to turn out in a live contest if you had a flawless run, pulled. Although I do like that the trick was pulled directly after..
Nice manual to hangfive by CRDNL818, and some other good stuff too.
Dug was showing some nice bike control, and he had backwards, forwards, that nice switch foot one hand mc.
My vote is for dug.

Dug gots my vote! lets do the duggie lolz

I gave CRDNL some extra time to reply whether he will send the video or not..
-
no probs just making sure everything is still on
-
Although CRDNL's video is very hard to see I thought he held his tricks for longer and looked more stable.
Not as much variation as Dug but he would have gotten my vote.
Sorry I've not been about.
Life handed me a sh*t sandwich.

No contest here........incredible run matteo---you've got some serious back and front wheel skills there. My vote goes to you!
-
Oh come on, beginner? No offense KHEmatteo, maybe you're an incredibly fast learner and that's really cool, but you're in the wrong class IMHO.
-
My vote is for KHEmatteo

KHEMatteo gets my vote nice progression from both
