A 180 rollback. Actually, just a rollback.
And I'm an old-schooler. That just seems unforgivable.
-
manual. can't do it.
but hey i don't need to..
...but i use it always when i tell people that its all about trying tricks, i never bothered learning manuals so i can't do it, hence you should try doing X

decades. fuuuu...
-
me i remember frontyards i always hit my nuts on the handle bars
-
Manual +1...I could do them fine with a rear brake, but I'm ass at them without one. Can't say I put much time into it though. Ill get to it eventually. Oh, also jugglers. They're on the to do list, but settling into my new house is sucking the soul out of my riding right now.
-
peg wheelie
-
funky chicken.. never really got around to learning scuffing stuff.
Decades, but I will be learning these this year more Trying some things here and there.
Ride on!
-
damn HITCHHIKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hitchhikers...really, any double footed stuff. I feel stuck in the 80's, but I'm workin' on that stuff!!!!! Seems everyone starts out rolling double footed these days.
-
Hang 5. seriously embarrassing, tho I'm working on them every session now.
-
Laugh if you will, but I cannot do a half-lash but maybe one in ten tries. the funny thing is full-on whiplashes aren't a problem at all.
-
Mac circle
Megaspin
-
forgive me my brains not with it today but the trick i cant seem to do is the one when you go into a fork glide and than you grab the seat,
-
Hang five... I just dont realy like them...
-
Any scuffing tricks. I try, but i cant.
-
Cant bunnyhop
dont judge
-
Hitchhiker for sure. It was my 2010 resolution to learn that, and all I could manage was getting into it, not the out. It hurts to see that as a beginner trick!
-
I still can't do a forkglide, getting into the trick is so f*cking hard for me....
-
manual
-
I can't do a half-lash without touching the ground with my left foot :(
-
scuffing in front of the fork while riding hang 5.... my foot won't bend enough:P
-
Hang 5. seriously embarrassing, tho I'm working on them every session now.
this, minus the working on them bit. I can do them backwards, but not forwards. I just send over the bars eeeeverytime.
-
rollback in a straight line :P
for gods sake i cant do it no mater how hard i try. in a circle no problem but straight line feels just ridiculosly unnatural to me. but im gonna have it till summer hehe
-
any scuff trick, funky chickens, squakers..
-
Finding a balance point on the front wheel ie front yards, squeakers, hang fives etc etc
-
peg wheelies lol. can roll em 12 feet at most. havnt progressed with them at all
-
scuffing tricks are hard...
-
It's relieving to see that other things giving people trouble don't seem difficult to me, while I can't do some of the stuff they consider basic.
-
Mc Circles for longer time..
A lot of times I mess up hitchikers.
A lot of turbines...grrr
-
footjam tailwhips!
-
Lardyard...
Dude, scuff is tough!.
-
TIMEMACHINES.........kids who started riding less time than me are learning them in under 6mths.............i've been riding over 10years
-
I can't scuff a single trick :p.

hell yeah i tried one on my 24" race bike last week and got it first go on grass so i thought id give it on my 20 on the the road and no way cant get it
-
whiplash, seriously the moment I place my other foot on I balance off every freakin time!
-
boomerang, wtf.. I try and try and try.. Yet alas, I fail every time. I get closer and closer but never make it.. Have never made it, not once.. I have been working on and off of them for a good year, FML.
-
I have to say wheelies. The trick that started all this madness and I have never been able to do them, ever. I can do manuals for a little while and peg wheelies unil I run put of speed ore get a foot cramp, but wheelies? Forgetaboutit.
-
Dougie
haha, gross.
-
Peg wheelies, can't do them at all.
-
Wheelie / Manual - I mean seriously, you don't even need a flatland bike!
-
Scura Tuck...
-
Peg wheelies, can't do them at all.
Here is the advice I gave someone else. Not sure it helps though...
Peg Wheelies: Do them everywhere you go. If your riding to your spot and are riding down a street, peg wheelie. Riding down a small hill? Peg wheelie. Riding down a big hill (scarier and more dangerous, but a lot of fun too)? Peg wheelie. Riding with a friend? Have contests to see who can go the longest while riding somewhere or going to your spot. Seriously this one is all about repetition. Eventually you will find that spot where you can literally hang there almost like your leaning against an invisible wall and can go forever. That is how I got them nailed.
Strangely I had a friend that used the same method for Hang 5s; he just did them everywhere so when we were doing peg wheelies, he was doing hang 5s. He got to the point where he could do them even down bumpy dirt trails that were etched from rain water and would bomb down big hills doing them. Crazy.

Mc circles and megaspins :P
Really i cant do em!! I practiced..
-
Probably true Tod, but I hope your wrong. I mean, not every rider can drive, right?
A bit off subject, but I will say that based on recent experience, if you could ride to your spot (distance) and are not, you are totaly cheating yourself. You get so much out of that ride just from bunny hopping curbs and stuff on the way to somewhere. Muscle, stamina, cardio, familiarity and comfortably with the bike.
Ironically, I had completely lost peg wheelies and could not do one to save my life until recently. Rode with my daughter to the gas station the other day and on the way totaly got them back. A coincidence? Maybe, but I know I will be all over "riding to the gas station to get a pop" any time she wants in the future. Can't hurt and can only help!

two or three times a week i ride to the lot by my house, about 1/4mile, rest of the time i drive to the local skate park and mix some flat and park ;D

This is how I learned peg wheelies! I had reached my goal for peg wheelies and now I'm learning to switch feet, doubles, and starting the whole process again on hang-5s
-
same here. i used to just ride down the street seeing how far i could go, over and over every day until they got better
-
scuffing in front of the fork while riding hang 5.... my foot won't bend enough:P
now i can! hahaha
but what we can learn from this topic, is the ''most difficult tricks ever'' hahaha that would be average doable ones:P
keep practise

Front wheel hops on the pedals. That is inexcusable for someone as old as I am.

man, i can get maybe 2 hops.
i remember them being easier bitd.

Rad Dad couldn't do em either, so I decided it wasn't my puny arms. He's built.
We did decide since we both run 120psi, that it was that. There is just no real "hop" in 120psi, like there was in 35...ha, ha, ha!
Yep...Rad Dad and I like to go back and visit the oldies sometimes.
-
I am also very embarrassed that I can't do this trick.
-
Wow yeah the old school stuff there was a ton I never learned because by the time I started getting serous, they were kind of passe.
Cherry pickers (of course see my signature for one of the reasons I refused to learn them)
front hops on the pedals (with any consistency)
J-Walks
Gut Levers
Side Levers
Sliders

Double footed anything. I just don't f*cking get it. I mean I haven't put any real time into it, but every time I just try double footed steams I don't even get close. UGHHHHHHHH

Ok some are going to laugh, others are going to shake their heads "yes."
Get yourself an extra wheel with a tire, tube and pegs (or just pull off your front wheel). Tighten the pegs down to the wheel.
Take it to a parking lot. Spin it a bit (with some speed, but not too fast) and let it roll on the ground. Sort of run behind it and then jump onto the pegs when your ready. You have to kind of jump at the right speed so you land flat on the pegs. Jump too far ahead and you slip off forward. Too far behind and you slip off backwards.
However, get on right and it is a good way to learn to roll double footed tricks. Get good at riding the wheel this way and you will have better luck with double footed stuff on a whole bike.
A friend of mine (that was a really good dirt jumper, but not a flat rider at all) and I got this nailed in a couple hours. Plus it's a kick in the pants to do!

McCircles......Ugh. 1 or 2 circles and then it just whips around like a fire hydrant or falls sideways. Never put a ton of time into learning them but have tried off and on for years and have been the cause of many bike throws.
I noticed alot of people talking about double footed balance. Two tricks I have found that help, in fact I do them when I first get to my spot and am trying to get warmed up, are hang tens if you can already do hang fives. Just work it from the knees and if you start to lose it you can just pull your balance foot off into a hang five and then try again until you lose speed.
The other, and this is can help people just starting out that dont have other tricks to work from, is double footed peg wheelies. You definitely want to let go with one of your hands, (Then you can actually sway the bike back and forth under you as necessary) you dont absolutely have to let go, it just feels easier to me.
The first trick lends similarities to a crackpacker position, while the second is similar to a hitchhiker position but either will help with that type of balancing.
Hope this helps at least somebody.

Probably nobody will read this but atleast I can get it off my chest...I can't ride a wheelie more than three cranks and.......I can't do halflash to steam. I can do a whiplash every couple tries, a halflash-smoothie out, regualr steam, double footed fw and bw and cross handed bw but I've never done a halflash to steam, I do a steam w my right foot on the peg so it makes it a bit awkward. I usually just ride into a fw steam from a funky chicken ;D
-
Not sure what you mean by "half-lash to steam." Can't picture that one.
As for not being able to do wheelies, if we can find a third I think we have enough for a support group. lol

I dont know for sure in this situation, but I ride with some newer riders and for some reason they refer to the initial steamroller kick in as a half lash. I guess the logic is simple enough, the frame only goes half way around (In most cases, LOL) before you grab the seat. Conversely, they refer to a simple half lash/babyface as a cross footed halflash. Of course, he could very well mean an actual half lash to cross footed steam being that he stands on his right foot. Not sure.......The younger riders I ride with tell me Im the one with all the crazy names for tricks. LOL

I mean I can't kick the frame around and ride into a steam w/o at least letting the back wheel touch and then grabbing the seat for the steam because I have to switch feet from left to right foot on the peg.. I cant do a traditonal steam ride in. I'd be glad to join the wheelie support group! ^_^

Oh yeah. That is actually just a steam roller, half of the trick IS the ride in.
A half lash is this:
http://www.global-flat.com/tricks/44/Halflash (http://www.global-flat.com/tricks/44/Halflash)
The actual alternate name was "Ashtray to Baby-face," but I always remembered that name being a joke to make fun of the silly names riders were coming up with for tricks at the time.
The one that always bugs me is all this "backward steam roller" stuff. It's a Fork Wheelie for crying out loud! Woody Itson invented it if I remember right. Steam rollers go one direction and that is forwards. Doubt I will ever win that argument though.

Oh I hear ya. Sounds like you are starting on the same side as normal, but you use the other foot on the peg. I would just try learning them from the other side of the bike and kicking the other way or learn them with the other foot. Either way, you will end up being more ambidextrous anyway.
Welcome to the "I can't do a wheelie" support group, MarylandFlat. Would you mind being Tod's sponsor? lol
-
Pinky squeaks, mc circles, and megaspins.
-
I was thinking about kicking it from the other side, hopefully I will learn that this summer, then I will be half way to an opposite whiplash. And yes, I would be glad to sponser Todd ^_^
-
decades. fuuuu...
pulled a decade today. i will join many others in saying i can't do mccircles.

Or another alternative is doing a rebate into it.
-
canīt do hang 5īs and crosshand steamrollers yet ...
but this summer will change things - hopefully!!
