vs
Sagaris
Qualification Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIYQYselOmc#ws)
Voting active!
-
Vote goes to Sagaris.
Front + rear wheel = greater variety with good difficulty on both fronts. Lachlans stuff was decent, but the rolling pivots from Sagaris are much more difficult in my opinion. that combined with the stark difference in variety gave him the win for me.
-
I vote for Sagaris
He has shown greater variety doing both front and back wheel combos and also, I find the pivots he does on the front wheel more difficult than Lachlan's switches.
-
I vote Sagaris.
-
While Lachlan looked way more polished in my opinion, Sagaris had more variety so I vote Sagaris. Great riding!

Thanks Joe! Congrats Sagaris for those tech switches for sure, I've always enjoyed your style & edits. Props!
-

Both you fools Make make me want to Ride !!
Lachlan, next time I see you I'll have a lil back wheel magic of my own !!
Highly Motivational !!
Awesome Battle, Glald Im not a judge !!
-
damn. when i agreed to be a judge i didnt know lachlan was in it. that being said i gotta give it to sagaris. it would be unfair not to. props to lachlan though. i wish he'd put in a front wheel line in the second clip.
peace
on the plus side though i dont know any of the other competitors personally, so judging should be a breeze from here on out. whos the next battlers?

4th round - global-flat - online video battle (first battle video) (http://vimeo.com/13921399)
-
man this one was like 2 different styles .i gotta give it to nene-brasil though. but tht was a bit tough to call
-
I'm really loving all the background action going on in Superdave's video. Reminded me of the video game Skate kind of. Props to him for being able to keep focused with all those people riding around him
-
Superdave's mega spins RULE!! nice style man!
-
I vote NENE-BRASIL, both guys were KILLIN" It though. Great riding guys!
-
I'm a fan of Dave's riding, but I have to give it to Nene on this one.
-
vote goes to superdave.
Crankless is not going to cut it in any battle shape or form so if anyone else doesn't have cranks, you might as well step out now until you get some.
-
Superdave gets my vote.
Nene's riding is fun to watch, but his tricks aren't that hard on a crankless bike.
-
I should have voted for Superdave. I made the wrong call. My appologies.
-
I should have voted for Superdave. I made the wrong call. My appologies.
lol. f*ck that. why are you even a judge?. so everytime TJ disagrees - you'll change your decision?. f*ck that.
I judge this - just on tricks. thats it.,
-
I should have voted for Superdave. I made the wrong call. My appologies.
why?
next time, please be more careful on your decision.
-
I should have voted for Superdave. I made the wrong call. My appologies.
lol. f*ck that. why are you even a judge?. so everytime TJ disagrees - you'll change your decision?. f*ck that.
what happened to you being a positive ray of sunshine? lol
I was just being honest man; my vote bugged me. Dave is the better rider. If I shouldn't judge, I'm fine with that.
anyways, what's done is done. next battle.

ok. next time just wait for TJ's vote before you cast your vote. that way you wont make the wrong decision.
-
So does crankless really make all those banger tricks that much easier? I didnt know it had that much of an effect...
-
anyways. like i said - im a great judge. everyone knows it.
i judge only on tricks.
it was a tough call - if you see this battle trick-for-trick and the overall flow.
plus for me superdaves second megaspin line was kind of weak compared with either of nenes back wheel lines.
superdaves first line had some good bangers halfpacker barflip to steamboat was the top switch of his link. but the overall length of the whole combo was impressive too.
for nene - it was the backwheel to front wheel to back wheel hop-switch, the crossfooted walking over , the decade ,the caboose - pivot out.
i dont want to talk down any of the competitors . like i said it was a tough call.
-
So does crankless really make all those banger tricks that much easier? I didnt know it had that much of an effect...
some yes, but mainly it's because of the light weight..
anyway, thanks for the great battle guys!
-
crankless makes all rear wheel sh*t stupid easy compared to if it's being done with cranks. sorry but if you think otherwise you really have no clue of what's hard and what's isnt. JM came to ME and said he thought he made the wrong call regardless of how I voted. I don't know why you're giving him sh*t.
-

lol. you just worry about your own vote. ok?
what happened to the post you just deleted?, just before jms post about his "mistake". youre used to people agreeing with you.
yeah -"i dont have a clue about whats hard". hahahaha. we dont need judges that just blindly repeat everything you say.
you might think youre a sheperd just because youre surrounded by sheep. im not a sheep buddy.
so just stay out of my way. and i'll stay out of your way
-
we dont need judges that just blindly repeat everything you say.
And we don't need judges who have no real concept of difficulty in terms of how cranklessness effects it or not. If you can't deal with objective analysis then don't judge it's as simple as that.

lol. whatever . dont take yourself so seriously there , "pal".
everyone knows im a great judge.
next battle
-
one vote for flattech from E-motion.
-
I go with flaTTech
While the difficulty of both guys' runs was nearly the same, flaTTech has shown more variety in terms of tricks and exploring different concepts of riding. In adition, misterpola's run was based on spinning/turbining and he used the same switch handed steamroller ride out twice.
-
I vote flatTTech. although misterpola had some difficult switches, flaTTech showed slightly more overall skill with consistent bike control in a wider variety of lines/tricks.
-
FlaTTech in the house! I was waiting for his battle to come up... more variety with some tough tricks in there.
Also... please tell me it's not going to be a given that every brakeless rider we see is going to throw in the pump steamroller>crackpacker line. It's all well and good that folks can bust that link (a link that I seriously like and admittedly can't do the step through version of), but honestly, it's almost becoming a predictable line for all brakeless riders. FlaTTech seems to always try to throw small, subtle new links in his run, and I'm hoping he keeps edging folks out until people start experimenting or pushing their imaginations more.
-

I'm not brakeless, that line is done by a lot of non-brakeless riders, there are hundreds of predictable lines (not only for brakeless rideres), and I honestly don't see how is that flattechs's riding involves more imagination than mine, none of us did original things. That being said i'm pushing the ignore button.
Flattech, your video is amazing! Lot of variety and difficult tricks, a well deserved win. You won last round in experts and you are already killing it at masters. Congratz!
-
i definitely see where both of you are coming from.. yes you see a lot of people doing that spinning steamroller to crackpacker line but it shouldnt be discredited for that. It was a really awesome link with a nice barflip mixed in there. Awesome stuff by both of you though
-
Flattech is more "original" by virtue of the fact that what he's doing isn't done by very many even though it's already been done before. It's more about straying off to unfamiliar paths than creating a new one.

The first link in your vid honestly looked brakeless... my bad. I'll correct myself by just saying then that it's a line being done by a whole lot of riders (numerous times in the battle clips we've seen so far), rendering it less original in the context of the battles. I'm not saying anything about it's difficulty or the skill involved in doing it, so at least try to not get too offended.

So we are talking about trends instead of originallity. IMO that shouldnt be taken in account because every judge will have his personal preference about that subject, and we have no specifically selected judges, just people who offered themselves to be one.
Anyway his video had more variety and difficulty, but this is not why i'm pointing this out, i just think that comment about "imagination" was unnecessary.

Pola, seriously man think about this for a second. How many people are putting out videos doing the kind of sh*t he's doing? How many people are doing tricks similar to yours? No offense man, but trends DO equal originality, and he's not following any of the hot trends at the moment that I can think of. That's going to make him stand out pretty fast.
-

There are a lot of riders doing what he did, and just because they don't put a video on the internet they are more "original"?
I understand what you are saying. I can do not trendy links like him too, but I show on video what I like. Now I know that what I like is not what judges like, and as this is an online contest and what the rider shows is what's going to be judged, I know what I have to show on the next round :P.
So, I still think that trends shouldnt be judged
-
flaTTech gets my vote. But don't get it messed up, misterpola is a monster beast.

+1... misterpola straight rips.
I guess we should all try to remember that there isn't anything personal with these votes. Not trying to offend anyone with the explanations as to why the vote went one way or the other.

I don't think you understand what's going on here.
You did a bunch of tricks that could be judged as being very "trendy". He did not. On top of that, he did tricks on both wheels and had a greater degree of variety.
If you really want to press the issue we can go further into specifics and you will come out looking worse off so I suggest it's left alone.
-

I know I did trendy stuff, I never said I didn't. I already said his video was better, and I also stated my disagreement on judging trends. That's all I wanted to say
-
every judge will have his personal preference about that subject, and we have no specifically selected judges, just people who offered themselves to be one.
thats true for everyone else except me. I judge just on tricks. trick for trick. link for link. switch for switch.
-

Yes and you have to take into account whether or not someone is doing something out of the ordinary (ordinary being the average here) or not.
-
Man I'm so glad I don't have to judge. Both guys straight up killed it as far as I'm concerned. What I like about flaTTech is you don't know what the hell he's going to do next.
-
I vote Flattech, just more variety and flow. misterpola, I really liked your vid too, keep at it.

circlefoto for the win!
probably the best rider in masters so far..
I want to say, that I'm holding up my battle for few days, since I'm busy, but I will try to film something this weekend.
-
This battle is amazing! So hard combos from these Riders...
this battle entertain me so much. And this is the first Round what goes in the finals  ;D
-
f*ck me. Circlefoto gets my vote. Ronny had a really solid run of front wheel stuff, but Circlefotos front AND rear wheel tricks were good, and his rear wheel pivots were BONKERS. Those stickb stubbleducks are crazy hard.
Sick sick runs.
-
Circlefoto knocked it out the park.... I'm a big fan of stubbleduck action, and pulling multiple lardyard and stick b stubbles in one long line with speed and flow is tough. Good solid combo on each wheel. Ronny was pretty bomb also, but Circlefoto had a more diverse front wheel line with a wider variety of tricks/concepts in it. And that flow...! Thanks for the clips, guys!
-
Ronny@ Kassel rode very well no doubt with strong lines, especially loved the slow nose manual at the end and the front to rear switch. circlefoto really impressed me with his back wheel prowess. both links were incredible. i vote circlefoto.
-
I'll go with circlefoto
While Ronny had very solid run with nice switches, circlefoto did a very good front wheel combo and dropped some real bombs on the back wheel, for example the stubbleduck directly into upside down time machine to name just one thing.
-
I'm glad people enjoyed my battle vid, thanks for the comments!
Misterpola, your run was great riding! I understand what some are saying about the links being trendy and very common, IMO it doesn't take away from the fact that they are difficult, and really cool riding.. Anybody watching that vid can tell you have some serious flatland skills!
The riding in my video isn't entirely original, but is definitely more rare then alot of the common trends presently seen.. More uncommon riding will probably edge out way more common "trendy" type links IF the difficulty is similiar.. It's not that the "trendy" links are getting penalized. It's the rare, or original riding getting evaluated higher for there uncommonness..
Honestly, I don't recall ever seeing anyone do the brakeless smith rolaid type thing the way I did it.. I have seen (and done it) with a tap of the back brake, but learned it brakeless for this vid.. Wanted to get that trick brakeless since I took my back brake off a few years ago. Proud of that one!
Next battle! Jesus, Circlfoto and Ronny are killing it!
-
circlefoto got tht. nice little nose wheelie by ronnie at the end tho, i liked tht
-
I want to ride like circlefoto some day! wow
That nose manual by Ronny was just butter ;D
-
circlefoto wtf??
just nuts.

man let me vote first next time.. i dotn want it to look like i need to see your vote first to vote. im not like these other 3 parrot judges that repeat all your sh*t. too bad so far youre getting it right. ondo it is
-
this was an odd pairing. I vote ondo
for me the battle wasn't one sided, ondo just nudging out Luke by virtue of some harder individual tricks
Emo, please keep your snide remarks to yourself. thanks.
-
That turbined halfpacker was really nice though luke. Awesome riding by both guys really but yeah ondo just threw down so many high quality tricks.
-

So basically everyone is voting correctly except when they vote one way they are parroting and when you vote you're a unique snowflake? Just want to make sure that I get this straight so I know who is riding my coattails and who isn't.
-
Circle foto & ronny!!! YES! Ronny you're an insiration! That was killer. I am stoked that this pushes people to ride harder as it did with me, but reading all of these lame comments about trendysh*t and bullsh*t talk makes me really happy I'm out of the battles!

Who are you and why are you a judge? Seriously... this has to be the most elementary school bullsh*t I've seen in a long time. "Let me vote first so I don't look like a copycat even though you're right". If you know anything about riding, then you wouldn't see the votes as "parroting" because everything is obvious. Please come up with some credentials to justify why you opinion should mean anything.
-
I finished my video really quick today, uploaded it & quickly threw in the battle, before had to leave the house. Haha nice, got in with Luke. reeee-maaaatch for the good old times :D
About my video length, I made it so long, because you see, the intro and outro is like 17 sec + I added some extra seconds after each trick, so it is easier to understand what's happening with those tricks.. it's no time limit violation.
thanks for the votes, guys (:

lol. why u getting so uptight about it?.
im not going to vote against someone just because of you. all im saying is let me vote first before you. its not that much to ask. let me put in the first vote. and you put in the next one. its simple.
or all the judges PM their votes to ondo. im seeing a trend of "going with the majority" here with some of these judges. or "parroting". "just sayin".
thats what i want to know too about whos riding your coattails . last time i checked there was supposed to be 5 seperate judges. not one know-it-all who dictates to three others.

hahahha. "if i know anything about riding" . hahaha. youre not even a master class competitor.who the f*ck is you? i dont have to show you sh*t for credentials. besides im a great judge. why else would I be a judge, if i wasnt. you need to learn to shut up and mind your own business.

Nice riding Ondo! You got my vote
thanks man!
-
My vote to Ondo, Luke you're awesome. Great riding! "Polly wanna cracker?"
-
Vote to Ondo... first half of the video was almost a street riding clip. Variety took it in this battle if not a decisive edge in difficulty between the 2 riders.

^ Your problem is right here, Ondo. Do as you will.
-
For me it's ondo
The number of tricks he did was larger than Luke's, his stuff was more difficult and he didn't repeat anything.
-
Ondo get a new hybrid frame and throw the sh*t down stairsets and gaps. NOW !!!!! ;D
-

I vote for franciscofromperu.
His video had more variety (links on both front and rear wheel) and harder tricks. That 360 barflip from steamroller to blender/sideyard (or whatever you call it) was neat.
-
yep francisco!
-
My vote goes to Franciscofromperu, I loved the coasting loco-motive. Michael, that opening switch was KILLER!
-
franciscofromperu gets my vote. lot of variety and difficulty in his runs.
edit: the poll reads "ondofranciscofromperu"
lol
-
My vote goes to Francisco, but the only reason he won was because of variety. Michele's tricks were sliiiightly more difficult, but the variety Francisco displayed was much higher.
Vojtech, you need to watch closely because there was no 360 barflip in his front wheel run.
-
My bad, I've just watched it frame by frame and you're right. However, this doesn't change my verdict, even though this switch is not that difficult, it's pretty original, I have never seen it done this way before.
-

I'm not even sure what switch you're talking about because there wasn't an original switch in his video.
-
Michael's rolling frontyard switched around to steam was sweet and he had a nice switch at :33 into his 2nd steam combo, but Francisco's combos had a little more going on in them. His small plasticman ride-in and the flip to halfpacker was really good, and I loved the no-handed backyard in the 2nd combo. Francisco's variations for the win.
-
The last switch i didn't see it anyone before doing it to be honest I think it's a original switch. That's all I wanna to say.

That steamroller to blender switch. This was the first time I saw someone just lock the brake and jump forward with the bars between the legs without doing any barflip during the trick.

Really? I've seen quite a few people doing that switch. I learned it around 2006-2007 I think. Maybe we're watching different things, but while it is unique on the spectrum of the master battle videos, it's not really that unique in all things flatland.
-
My vote goes to Francisco.
Rocking both wheels, jump from steam roller to halfpacker was sweet! Also he looked more controlled.
Michael hit 2 hard switches, but his run seemed a bit sketchy.

EDERSON NENE-BRASIL requested 2 extra days, because of the weather & work stuff.
so it's 2 days extra. not a hour more.

nene brasil global flat round4 video 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yMeDV7Jiq8#)
-
I vote Sagaris. Of the two videos, his links demonstrated more technical difficulty.
-
Sagaris gets my vote.
-
Sagaris
-
Wow... what a battle. Let's see... Nene's combos seem longer, but most of the length was extension through turbine rather then different tricks being linked together. I've always been a fan of Sagaris' riding/progression; seems to emphasize his links/switches without much filler. The steam switch to inside halfpacker was completely bomb at :40'ish, and that back wheel flip into the rolling stick b never gets old. Sagaris takes it.
-
Sagaris gets my vote.
Greater variety and difficulty, period.
-
Thanks everyone, and that was some some killer backwheel riding, ederson!
-
Sargaris gets my vote. NENE , I loved the turbines. Great battle guys. Very close one for me.

Hi ondo, what's happened in our group?
Since you posted the battle of flattech and circlefoto passed like one week, I'm still waiting for film miself for our battle, but I have a lot of work and I need to know when is our turn for start filming
Cheers

so wheelchair to steamroller...?
Nobody is bashing anyone here Jason.
-
I agree, no bashing going on.
As for franciscofromperu's question. The only facts I have is that I uploaded my video 4 days ago, and submitted to ondo 2 days ago. I can only assume that we are waiting for circlefoto's video.

no i'm workin on bw cross hand steams to bw crackpackers there real close, with a few other tricks involved, i know fakie is considered easier in a lot of ways but i don't see to many people take it as far as i've been taking it so i was just curious. i guess at the end of the day you'd have to see it yourself to really decide.
-
circlefoto. what frame are you riding??very nice whips!
DAMN BOTH YOU GUYS ARE GOOD!!
very nice backwards nose manual flattech!
-
Circlefoto gets my vote. Just way harder tricks.
-
Circlefoto.
btw flattech, that backwards nose manual was greaaaaaaaaaat
-
flaTTech, your riding is on point and just great. I actually liked your video better; tho I have to vote for circlefoto this time. would love to see what he could do in a proper edit with multiple takes. that clip was bonkers.
-
My vote to circlefoto, loved the rear/front/rear wheel switches! flaTTech you were KILLIN" it too. Great battle guys!
-
circlefoto it is.
Much harder stuff than flaTTech's.
-

I'm with Jm on this one... flaTTech's vid was more entertaining for me due to the variety, but Circlefoto just went nuts (and during a contest/demo run too? WTF! =). The no-handed upside megaspin was so bomb, and he was just flying around full speed. Thanks for inspiring me to actually touch my bike today gentlemen.
-
Circlefoto nice tricks! They look quite familiar... lol
Good to see you bustin out Rear wheel stylez!
-
Wow, insane! circlefoto with a well deserved win. The link that ended with a no hand pedaling deathtruck spin, IMO is extremely difficult, just nuts.
Thanks to everyone who made some nice comments about my video and the backwards nose wheelie. Variety and entertaining is what I was going for. Learned a few new things for this battle, including the whiplash to hiker and the one handed juggler, really awkward for me to juggle those one handed..
-
The level of riding in this master class is insane. Incredibly difficult combos and circlefotos links were so fast, damn.
Flattech, you're still a winner even if you missed this time. ;)

ondo gets my vote.
He did much more tricks that were significantly harder than Francisco's stuff.
-
deng ondo!
-
Eek. :P
-
I also vote Ondo. higher difficulty overall, and more variety in my opinion.
-
Ondo.
-
i vote ondo, due he's less originality. he did have higher level tricks that makes him the winner, good luck you both!

You have 10 days! If you need more, just say!
Run limit is 2min 10sec!
-
The weather's not looking too good for Birmingham over the next couple of days so if I've not got any footage in the next day or so I might need an extra day or two.
-
I must say im interested as well what frame circlefoto is riding, because it must be quite strong which might affect my choices in the future :P
-
I broke my rear axle again. no riding for at least 5 days. maybe I can borrow a freecoaster..
anyway, haven't heard anything from circlefoto and Sagaris asked for some extra days. if one of them doesn't film anything, I stay in, if they get their videos in time, I might just take the 3rd..
-
I have both sagaris and circlefoto videos.
Can you give me one more day or two?
My rear axle is broken, I will borrow a wheel and I will try to find a camera..
-
YESYES Gonna compete next round. Have a camera for a while ^_^
love the onlinebattles. time to ride again!!

so sorry guys for the hold up, I had some difficulties. my video isn't brilliant, it was pretty dark, cold, it was raining and the camera battery died. so yeah, I just did it.
anyway, awesome run by circlefoto. should be the winner. :)
-
Circlefoto hands down.
I think the links could be longer for both Sagaris and ondo. But looks whos talking, I like the short combos.
Deffinately Circlefoto should win. Second and third is a toss up.
-
circlefoto
who is this guy?!
superb riding, he gets my vote for 1st in this battle.
the fact that he's as good as he is and just came out of nowhere and destroyed it is pretty rad, as a sidenote :)

3. sagaris

-
My votes as follow, circlefoto 1st, Ondo 2nd, Sargaris 3rd. I had to watch Ondo's a couple times, could barely see him. Super high level of riding, you guys all Killed it!
-
lol circlefoto you look like you just stopped by on the way home from KOG haha.
great finals!
ondo: if you film at night when you edit play with the contrast & brightness, you can make it much easier to view
-
I tried the brightness editing, but it just mess it all up and makes it white and hard to see anyway.
sorry again, but i had to do it, almost gave up as uncontested hah! 2nd place wooo :P
-
Results:
circlefoto 1st place
ondo 2nd place
Sagaris 3rd place
Congrats!
Circlefoto, would love to see you next round too! Awesome riding!
Props to all the Masters!

sorry again, but i had to do it, almost gave up as uncontested hah! 2nd place wooo :P
thats why you need to adjust the brightness AND the contrast :P
otherwise it does seem f*cked up.
also saturation\luminance if you have those options -_-
