arrgghh...i want to sign up but i have this week and next week booked fully, then i know when i go back to school in 2 weeks i'll be busy as ever...
i really want to sign up because i have hang5s and steamrollers almost on lock, and i could probably throw a firehydrant forkglide etc. in there and have a video.
i'll try to make sure and ride this winter indoors and be ready for the spring round i guess :(

Man I think I gotta pull out the ol' Flail Boomerang again. I haven't even tried it once after I landed it last round, haha. Thing scares me a bit for some reason but I don't have enough new tricks cuz I've spent so much time on hitchhikers. Time to man up!

i'm gonna try really hard to at least get 2 tricks recorded tomorrow! even if it's a 30 second video and i'm DQd i will do my best to get involved. if i can't get it made, i'll have to sit out probably cause i go out of town on monday for the week and it'll probably be closed by then.

I had to leave my internship trip to NYC early because I ran out of money and I'm really tempted to sign up, but I haven't touched my bike since the last round of battles.
I also no longer have a camera so there's that too :(
I don't know a single person with a usable video camera to be honest.
I've learned a bunch of new tricks that I can still do, but they're not like.. bangers. They're just for learning new techniques and changing my style up a bit. No battles for me though.

So after working 60+ hours a week for the last month, school starts with 18 credit hours in a week, I haven't touched my bike in god knows how long, I have no camera to use, it's still well over 100F outside on a regular basis, and the incentive for riding right now is what?

I submitted my video but haven't been added to the list. Maybe there is a problem with the first link cuz you can't see it real well? Man I landed that the very first time I tried, looked great on camera except for the rideout being about two feet out of range :angry: Spent next hour and half trying to do it again in temperature that felt like 110*F and probably hotter with the heat bouncing off the concrete. I was dying and could barely walk after I finally landed it.

For the more advanced riders, how long did it take for you to get from the "beginner" level to "intermediate"? Not necessarily specific to these Global Flat battles, but, in a general sense.

Hmm i guess i mean once you start combining tricks more and less about learnin single individual basic tricks. I'm not sure I quite understand when one becomes an intermediate but I know it's around that point. Like at what point did you feel that you were at that next level?
And dang Shane you're movin up? That was quick! I've been riding in a little indoor spot for a few weeks and ive been feeling much more comfortable in smallish areas now. It seems like forcing yourself to ride somewhere small is a pretty effective way to limit your trick acreage. Nothing beats a quickly approaching wall to tell you to tighten up!

Seriously man it's been a rough summer. I started to get used to the ATL heat (as much as one can) but then just got fed up with all the freakin sweat. Sweatbands and towels and cleaning the bike and mult quarts h2o and change of clothing and itchy legs from nasty shinguards and making shinguard sleeves out of tube socks and washing out my riding clothes every night and then Lysol and sunburns and wet car seats and people looking at me like i'm a redneck driving home with no shirt on and of course, dizziness or nausea.
I'm really lucky I found this indoor spot, though i am missing the vast expanses of my outdoor joints. I can't wait for Fall frolic time out on the courts.

I'm think I might pull out of this round. My forks cracked yesterday and I don't know how long they're going to hold. And it's super hot here and I'm stressing-out major when I turn on the camera. I feel like I'm trying to push myself too fast and too much, in conditions that are too hot and I just want to put more time into my more basic stuff. I'm not totally sure yet.
how much is it cracked? you can ride with a cracked fork for some time, especially if you're riding not so hard.

And one more thing. I don't think the riders should get to choose what division they enter. Someone who is qualified should do that. It's like at a martial-arts school, you don't have the students decide when they are ready for their black belt, the instructor does that because he is the one with the qualified perspective to know when a student is ready for the next level and he's the one that sets the standards. The students have to live with it or go play somewhere else. Just my opinion.ye since these battles also bear prizes it might be a good idea to assign riders to the classes accordingly not creating any "unfair battles", but I guess thats why the 50 sec vid is required before the battles start, it also allows to figure out which class would suit the rider best.
I'm still on the fence with this round, not sure if I should wait to the spring for round #5.

there were 16 riders, and now its gonna take long to there will gonna be 24.

i suggest to move 2 good beginner to intermediate and 2 good intermediate to expert so no one is fired out from first group and te first 3 group are filled.
