Good god- my shins look and feel like a couple of midgets beat the ever-living crap out of them with crowbars. Have any of you tried the Lizard Skins ones from FF? I'm assuming that by "in-house", either Pat or somebody he knows makes them and I like the thought of supporting him or another small business.

Im unemployed and no money tree in the yard.....so yes....Dans with free shipping for the win.

haha man I HAD to buy some, I was getting so worried I would get a build up of blood and end up with a blood clot from all that hitting, and my bones feel weak : o
Anyway man I brought some cheap ones called 'Shin Savers' and they live up to their name! Light and comfortable xD

Do shin guards interfear with riding at all?
Do they get in the way or anything?
Just wondering.
-
Nah, not at all. They don't stick out like knee pads. Then again, I haven't done many tricks that require lots of shin clearance. ^_^
-
I don't wear them unless I start working on something and I'm really getting beat up, then ussually a pad goes on and I'll keep it on untill I got the trick a little better. I've really only had to put one on at this point but I'm sure there will come a time when I'll throw them both on......not long either, maybe a few session deppending.
-
I was wearing them for a while but the thing I find is it just gets too hot with them on, feels like I have blankets wrapped around my shins, so having to choose between being uncomfortable the whole time I'm trying to ride or getting a little beat up (or alot depending on the day) I chose to just add to my scar collection and deal with it. So far it's actually not that bad, most of the time I get popped doing something clumsy or not paying attention so not wearing them has actually helped me focus a bit more.

They do for me. I hate them. I'd rather take pedals in the shins then wear those ugly bulky things.

shin beatings are like a whip to the back. learn how to do sh*t right and you wont get too f'd up!
Of course I want to do things right. Do I? Hell no- I'M LEARNING. ^_^

And I'd rather be able to ride a few days in a row without feeling like the pain from one more knock to the same spot on my shin will make me pass out.
-
Are you under the impression I don't hit my shins or something lol
-
I'm not a big fan of them either, they are hot and uncomfortable and tend to get in the way. That said if my shins get really beat up I'll wear them for a few days just so I can recover without hitting the same spot over and over, which is what really hurts the most.
-
Well my main issues is that I am a girl...
and I am new to flatland.
I have banged up shins from when I was younger
but I am too afraid to do try new things because I don't want to mess my legs up so badly I can't be girly on days I want to be and wear a dress. Haha
-
What she said. I like my dresses. Haha.
-
Shin guards are a must in my eye's, especially in the basic stage's of learning... I personally wouldnt ride without them, my shin's have been destroyed by accident's... In fact i still bruise and cut my legs even using full wrap around shin guards! WTP Fuse have served me well and im shure many would agree these are very good protection... :P
-
Do you know any site that sells them enexpensive?
Just so I could perhaps try to see if the feeling is comfortable enough?
-
Dans is 39.99 with free shipping.

sh*t. I actually agree 2Flat. I need a drink...
-
I have the Fuse ones and I love them, they give me more confidence to hit harder tricks without the worry of tearing up my shins.
-
Thanks for all your help ^_^
I am more of a flatlandfuel girl tho
haha. XDD
I know Dans has them cheaper, but I try to be loyal. :P
-
