Thats really nice news to hear that S&M have added their name to the list.
I think as time has passed, while its nice to see companies offer fantastic prizes its even more rewarding to myself (and maybe others?) to see that these great companies are still showing there support and recognizing that flatland is still part of the BMX scene.

If I don't order, I won't win anything at all. However, if I order a stem like I've been planning, I'll win another one.  ^_^

Give it a couple of days until the announcement. After working 12-15 hours per day since Thanksgiving, we all need a nice 3 day New Years weekend to relax (and ride!). Happy New Year and best of luck to everyone!

The winners should be riders who are in urgent need of major bike updates, but I guess It doesn't work that way.

It isn't a charity to lose money. It's a contest to drive up sales.

The riders who are in most urget need of these items are most likley the ones that dont even order off Flatlandfuel. And plus, Pat and his wonderful staff are rewarding the consumers who support them. If the rider who wins a prize would like to give to a local newbie or donate, then thats cool of them.

The last time I won a few years ago, I flowed most of the goods to fellow riders, mainly because the goods I won were the same ones I bought...lol. Feel free to hook up our younger riders and riders in need if its something you don't want/need!

Of course I get it, I totally do, this is no mind boggling puzzle, stuff is sorted randomly, we all know that (I hope).

And yeah, I think most people would give away their winnings if they didn't need them but that is something we'll only know for sure when the prizes are sorted.

I would kindly ask to suggest 1 idea to anyone who doesnt need certain prizes.

Please could you conceder raffling / selling / auctioning etc any spare prizes and send their donations to fellow BMX rider Stephen Murray.

We often concentrate on disciplines within BMX rather than the larger picture of fellow rider.
I cant even imagine being in a situation like Stephen Murray.

This happened back in 2007!
Imagine living like this for 3 years!

I have been using this forum for a while and Hugo always brings up a fight. I remember having abit of a feud with him. But yes that t-shirt is good and I would be proud to wear it.

and stop having your font in a larger size. What's the point so people notice what you type... and realize its just sh*t you type.

Observation: It's actually curious that if you count the posts after my first thought (it was no more than that), there are like 9 or 10 users that weren't bothered at all. They simply commented my reflection o the subject. Then came the smart mouths that took the chance to bash me just for kicks. I'm the trouble starter? Go figure.. =)

Hugo's heart is in the right place so he should be commended for that.

It is just not possible to structure a promotional giveaway only towards riders "in need". How do we qualify them? Take their word for it? Have them submit tax returns? It is just not practical.

This is a sales promotion that rewards our customers. Simple as that.

But lets lay off Hugo. He meant no harm. Only good.

I want to comment on this, but don't want to bring down this thread of generosity from Flatland fuel and its supporting companies .... so I will make the following text very small so if you want to read it either copy and paste it or increase the font size. - Cheers

PS - shame on you mutt.

I completely agree Cow
but you need to take some hope that a "forum" doesn't always attract the majority of true riders.
I have been on many flat forums for many years and see riders / online posters come and go ..... But the ones I remember the most are those who are still active (even if they dont post very much) as with age comes wisdom (with exceptions to mutt) along with increased sense of rationality.

I just hope that in the future the sport grows in such a way that we are able to offer greater support to our fallen riders in extreme cases. Full factory riders should have insurance as part of their contracts included as we all know that in televised contests such as the x-games and dew dirt tour many of these riders risk it all with support from their contractors. I am very surprised that GT doesnt seem to have any real role in the support of Stephen after the crash and wonder if thats due to it being foreseen as bad publicity?

I truly hope that fallen riders like Stephen Murray are not just swept under the rug when these news stories get old as his situation still requires a huge amount of support.

Just to put it into perspective (from what I understand)
Stephen Murray crashed in 07?
Paralyzed
His wife left (within a year?).
He is left with 2 young children to be a father to, who cant even pick up to kiss them or hug them.
Huge living & medical costs to keep him alive.
No job (obviously)

He obviously gets a great amount of support from his family and friends, but to go from a fully active human being living life to the full, to then becoming a person who cant even wipe his own ass hole after a sh*t (that is if he is able to even sh*t for himself) must be the most soul destroying situation.

I dont know how he does it, and I couldn't even imagine being in a situation like that day after day.
