Congrats to all! Matthias great move to take it at the end. Wish I could have been there to hand out the trophies to all 3 of the riders.

Congradulations to the riders, esp Matthias for taking the series win, and Sam for being so close!  That final battle must have been legendary.  The world circuit is a really good thing for flatland I think.

Does this mean that Matthias can claim to be the world champion? Or is that reserved for the winner of the Masters still?

Any word on the World Flatland Circuit expanding for the coming year?  I personally think adding an event in South America (*cough* Magicflart *cough*) would be great.  Unless there are conflicting dates.

As of right now there are no changes in the Circuit. It is held in the regions of the riders that travel to all the contest.
We never see riders leaving South America. Once and a while but not consistent.

I think Magicflart will begin this trend and grow Flatland there.  Magicflart is awesome and I hope to do something soon with them.
Maybe we will expand the year after.

We are trying to keep things solid and simple for now in hopes of bigger sponsors and opportunity for growth and rider involvement.

Thanks

That's great to hear, I just don't want it falling off the map like so many flatland organizations have in the past!

Yes I understand. Problem exist. Low rider participation, no sponsorship and little volunteer help.

Having the last round of the KOG be part of the World Circuit instead of the first round was clearly a very good change from last year.  In '07, only Japanese riders scored points in the first round, but this year there were lots of guys from all over the world who showed up in Japan for the final KOG.  Props for making that change, it made the whole World Circuit much more legit.

Hey Scott, first off let me say that as a flatland rider the Voodoo Jam is an amazing event that I can't see getting any better from "a riders perspective", but I would think that big/commercial sponsors would be more willing to step up and give prize money/product if the event was held in an arena that was more accessible to the public.  Similar to Moto Ground Force.  That way their name/products is getting advertised/displayed to more people than just us riders who travel for the jam.  Let me also say that I have absolutely no idea what it takes to put something like the Voodoo Jam together, much less trying to do it in a place like a shopping mall, but you have been doing a great job of it.  Just throwing some thoughts out there.

I was at Moto Ground Force. Yes there is more exposure in a sense but the crowd sucked. People are there to shop and not watch Flatland. It just doesn't work well. Although this idea is still creeping in my head. I will tell you this. In order to have a very hyped and successful mall contest you need a strong amount of Flatlanders in the audience to make it work.
Also we have created Voodoo Jam fans here in New Orleans. People that do not ride and love to come to the contest. So its possible for us to have it in the mall. maybe, we have talked about it.

Terry and I are going to be looking at next year and we do have some ideas in mind. I am thinking change for sure. Voodoo of old is just that. I think we will move to something different now.

Who knows...

Peace
Scott O
