Alright Ontario, this jam is gonna ROCK!!!  Get excited!  Music all day!  Great riding spot, hopefully lots of riders from the surrounding area and out of town!  Hopefully some Americans will make the drive up!

Get excited!!!  Hopefully I'll be debuting some interesting backwheel tricks!  Yay!

Wow!! I'm actually going to be in Toronto from July 30 to August 2.  Unfortunately I'll be without my bike, but I'll try to make an appearance on the way out.  Where is this place in relation to Nathan Phillips Square/City Hall?  I'll be staying like a block away from there.  Damn, this is the second time in a row that I go on vacation to a city that just happens to host a jam (went to NYC 3 yrs ago and stumbled upon a jam, at least I was in the group photo)

I'm not a Toronto expert, but I'm sure you'll get a reply soon.  It'd be awesome if you just popped in Ron, hope you can!  Pass the word on too Matt Wilhelm if you can, I'm sure he's busy, but if not it'd be awesome if he could make it up!

k nathan philips square is on queen street (between university and bay.) so look at the ttc map, and you'll see queen subway station, you can hop on the 'rocket' from there, ride it up north to younge and bloor then transfer to the east west line, go west to christie station and then in the wise words of e-motion:

"its right outside the christie subway station.  you get off at christie station and theres a christie park .... the spot is in that park....its not very hard to find actually"

heres a copy of the ttc map to eh.

http://www.8wellesley.ca/images/user/ttc_subway_route_map.gif

i think ttc fares like 2.75 or 3$ now, so be ready for that too, and seeyou there

If only....I'll have my cast on until at least august 15th. If not a little longer. (Stupid lack of arch support).

No lack of moral support. Neela, Adam, Al, Prasheel, and Mr. Fenton. All of you are golden. Every last one of you.

Definitely come out!  Even if you don't get a bike assembled in time!  Ride someone elses bike, it'll be good.  Hopefully you can make it out Chris P!

Bikes together man, just not up to snuff. It's not too bad either. I'll have all or most of it upgraded by then. Wheels and tires my biggest issue. I can only run 60 psi right now and running a freewheel. Trying to round up some zero offset forks as well. Other smaller issues. All in all I can ride and have been. Not to worry, I'm already stoked about the event and I WILL be there.

This is a jam of epic proportions.  Come witness what can only be labeled as unworldly progression and tricks from Alex Poirier.

Shane, I got extra parts laying around?  I got some Kore zero forks...what else you need/want?

HYPE HYPE HYPE!

Hey thanks man. I appreciate the offer. I think I'll be okay though. I'll have it sorted out by then. I pretty well have it figured out. Stuff is arriving in the mail every few days.  I just won't have time to get use to it all. This set up is much different then what I am use to but I see it as a positive. A solid 8 hours riding at a jam should fix me up a bit I think.

I was at the spot the other day and it's still pretty flooded. Someone needs to light a fire under city workers asses and get that place cleaned out. Otherwise bring plenty of brooms and sqweegees.

You'll have to get in touch with Adam, he's the only one that could put you up.  Me and Prasheel both live in Ottawa which is four-five hours from Toronto, haha.  Or Brandon might be able to as well, i'm sure he'll reply quickly.  I'll tell Adam to get on here and reply.

HELLO BMX WORLD!!!!

I've been out of commission for the last little while. I destroyed my back at work and have been going to physio 3 times a week :S I'm going to try to make it out but am not sure if I'll be on my bike.

As far as that HaMjaM comment, I don't have anything in the works BUT want to rock something once the weather cools down a bit. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN

I'm almost 100% positive all you need is a drivers license and your birth certificate.  This is from going to new orleans, and new york very recently.  Just be ready with your license and certificate and they won't ask you for your passport.

Come out to the Jam everyone!

I took a pic of the Christie Pit spot 2weeks ago and was looking at the image today, yeah sometimes when supporting jams I forget, how cool it is. When one has to jump from Skateboarding, BMX and Freeride it can be much digesting it all, I try to keep all in good heart.

This past weekend Metro Jam Inc., had their Am Jam qualifier at Iceland in Mississauga, and
Tall Paul( Ham Flatlander) attended, its always great seeing him, very nice guy. Jay Miron was there too and many pro BMXers. I was telling Jay about the ASC Flatland Battle in the arena, since he too sponsored that event under TenPack. That was a super awesome Flatland Battle/Jam.  Good things take time to digest.

You know its great supporting when one is able and there is nothing like community jams where everyone participates, from pro/am, and expert/beginner...N

If you all only knew what it took to secure this space, Hard IronASC work. I secured a rain date also for  AUGUST 9TH.

We wanna see some all out riding at this rink, and someone for once explain to me "funky chicken" or in good honor for the Jam plaster it on your T-Shirt..lol! See you all soon, you all thought I would only support one jam for Flatland for 08...hummm now you know how much I love the Flatland Form.

I canceled ASC's participation at Wakestock this year, having a jam is more important than forking money for a booth and standing around. Make an effort for yourself to ride at your community event.

i dont know a lot about it...but i know enough to know its a problem and i know just doing "my part" really isnt doing sh*t to help things.... i hope flatlanders are down with the that...other then having pavement....ya maybe pavement is less space for trees....but atleast its not a space used  to burn more fossil fuels

i mean atleast flatlanders are using the pavement for something! maybe that something doesnt mean a lot in terms of advancing humans...but think about...think about the first humans walking upright or learnign to use tools and making fire think of flatlanders directly or inderctly connected to that  learning ...maybe we are advancing the evolution of humans...but i guess it cooler in this colture to live a completely hedonistic lifestlye....wtf does anyone have to look forward to anymore??

anyways.... atleast i hope other flatlanders or anyone really cares enough about the environemtn...i hope they can find better ways for us to help or make the technology to help us

see you guys at the jam i guess...i hope it doesnt rain too much...becasue if tht sound system is outside ..it will be a bitch to be constantly moving it

anyways.... take care flatlanders and mother Earth- i love you both
peace

Hears a thought I'd share for some random run thinking, there is some sanskrit terminology anyhow...

How can we develop Universal Brotherhood?

Although the sweets which we prepare and eat have many different forms and names, the fact is, that all of them contain one common thing, that is..sugar. Just as we must realize this truth, we must also realize that, in this world, while there are so many individuals with different forms and names, the one common thing that is present in all of them is the Vishnu Thathwa(formless principle) or the Omnipresent Atma(soul). This realization will enable you to develop love for the entire humanity.

Okay, after we film everyone doing all their new sick tricks and combos, we're all gonna steal Terry's Katrina, and hiker jump out.  And we're gonna steal Matthias' wheelchair boomerang things, Adam Kun's 180 whopper, what else can we steal from pro's?

I had a blast. It was great meeting a bunch of guys and seeing some old friends. There was a wide variety in the riding too. It was great for an old guy like myself to see the newer stuff. Makes me want to push myself to get up to snuff.

Until the summer of 2009 u need a valid state id and a birth cert. u dont officially need a passport yet to get to canada through ny, it may be different through other states.

They need to toughen up security 'cause there's terrorists everywhere and they hate that we're free. (sarcasm)

Chicago represented for like 5 minutes.  It was kind of a bummer that the jam was on the day that we were to leave, but I'll be back!!  For anyone who's never been to Toronto you gotta check it out, it's absolutely worth the trip.  Good food, friendly girls and cool vibe.  The only thing that sucks was the traffic.

It was awesome seeing you for that 5 minutes, I'm glad you at least made the effort to come check it out!  Having the jam in Toronto is about having a jam but also making the trip worthwhile, you get to come to an awesome city as well!  Let the other Chicagoans know about it and hopefully next year more people can make it out!

Any city in CANADA where one puts on a Flatland event is worth checking out. Canada as whole is a great place not just Toronto. There are many cities that offer nice facilities and is surrounded by beautiful landscape and people in CANADA. The thinking should be Broad.

When I go to another country people ask Where are you from? I don't say Mississuaga, or I'm born in Africa and origin India. I say CANADA. The thinking should be Broad and Unified.

Thank you to all that showed up and showed support.  Like already mentioned, it was kind of weird not even having the whole Toronto scene show up, but it was great seeing all that came out.

Big thanks go out to ASC for all their help, as well as Flatlandfuel and Sickchild, who allowed for almost everyone to walk away with a new shirt or hat.

Unfortunately, I did a number on my ankle pretty early in the day, and then when I still tried to ride later, hurt the same leg pretty bad.  I had a pretty bad purplankle (purple ankle), and was told that I probably tore a ligament.  But, with the help of a Shopper's Drug mart cane (thanks for the tip Alex), I's alright.

On a side note, Lachland and Mazar are both riding machines.  Not just at this jam, but every one I see them at, they both are usually the first ones I see riding, as well as the last ones.  Big ups to both of you.  Love having you guys around as it pushes me (and I hope others) to ride harder and longer.

Looking forward to the next one already.  Spread the word all.

Don't forget Adrian!  He was killing it!  Riding super hard, and taking some nasty bails.  So awesome man, such great progression!  Same with Mazar and Lachlan of course, always a pleasure.  Some wonderful things are in the works I think

Where have these guys been at:
-Jamie Sinyard
-John Findley
-Eugene Andruszczenko

I thought John was gonna be there but wasn't.  Jamie still ride?  Eugene?  I sure hope so!  Haven't seen 'em in awhile, just trying to get a list going of active Ontario riders, making sure guys haven't sold their bikes yet!!

Good to see Chris P, and OSD make it out, as always, along with like five guys I've never seen before!  COOL!!!!!!!!  More fun next time...And PIZZA!

ya oh well its strange that since the jam was announced almost a month ago??... but its all good...sometimes the smaller jams are more fun and less chaotic....defeintly been sick riding with the whole ontario crew all along........sure over the times...some people we knew we dont really see anymore....but anyways...

is there any interest in a jam at my community center spot in markham??...me and my mother will cook all those attending a gourmet meal for after....a nice  quiet spot ..if it really reflected the "community" in the word community center..the whole communty would be dead....usually in the evening i can ride alone and see no one for hours... no worries with security or anything....

one day the guy who runs the community centre was walking towards me- i thought he was trying to kick me out- so preemptively without letting him say anything - i told him to stop annoying me and leave me alone.....probably not in those exact words..but very similair..and then hes like - oh- im just going to throw the garbage as we walked past me..... the point of the story...no one can f*ck with me at my spot! NO ONE!...haha...no thats just a joke...but maybe it really isnt....

anyways you know the spot....maybe youve seen it already in some of my youtube videos?

anwyays i ope your ankle is better by now prasheel...or if not now then very soon
al......everyone else...let me know if a nice session and a free meal interests you
peace

I just got back home last night and have already been riding again.

Mazar, a session at your spot followed by a home cooked meal sounds awsome.  Keep me in the loop, as I'd definately like to be in attendance.
