Groundroots UK flatland series (+ Open to everyone)
Round one - Relentless Nass, Shepton Mallet, Friday 13th/Saturday 14th June.
Pro prize money £1000.
Round two - Southsea Skatepark (date to be confirmed shortly)
Round three - Green Mile (possibly August bank holiday weekend-again to be confirmed asap)
Flat matters presents “Groundroots” at Relentless Nass. After much rescheduling and knashing of teeth, Am Flat qualifiers and Pro Flat qualifiers will be on Friday 13th June from 4pm till 6pm approx. With flatland finals on the Saturday morning, at the same location as last year, the area will be a lot smaller due to the street course being in there this year.
Round one of the “Groundroots” series is at this years Nass, a platform for UK riders to have the chance to excel and be seen, and maybe at the end of three rounds, you could be the UK champion.
Going back to the 90’s and when the UK scene was world renowned we had the Level Vibes, Cambridge jam, KOC, the UK scene had events going on all the time, you can fit Urban games in there too.
With the recent loss of any flatland coverage in Ride magazine, I personally think its important for flatland to be involved in big events as well as smaller grassroot events, the UK scene is thriving at the moment, but no-one sees it, unless you have an interest in flat already and check this website.
So this event at Nass is for all riders interested in flatland, if your into it, it would be great to see you there, if you don’t like competing, maybe come and watch or judge, but please do come and support and get involved.

dudes whatever you do don't just turn up at the main gates of NASS saying"hey i'm here for the flat, it's free for me" cos you won't get in.

Pre register through me, email that you are entering before hand otherwise its goes to a nightmare. I will post Pro reg and Am reg on here so you can see whos coming. And also to let the guys on door know whos riding, genrally makes life lot easier.
As few guys know i was offered some shows along with sam and jay, but they have fell through, so I will be there organising ok...
You can watch of course, check the nass website for details of spectating fee..

This time I'll drive so no need to ride for miles through the countryside to some tiny station in the middle of nowhere with a tent tied to my handlebars and a huge rucksack on my back. Should be a good comp, and a decent piss-up too. Bring it on! :mellow:

The contest is inside, i would assume, you can jam where theres room outside, the freestyle skaters did that. Id prefer to stay inside personally, that outside floor was so slanted...

i was speaking to somone connected to one of the main oraganisers the other day and apparently if this years turnsinto a brawl / set fire to everything chav fest there never doing one again ever , only reason its been moved back to june is to hopefully keep the summer holiday kids away .

ciaran to be honest im surprised they are even doing one this year, last years nass was manic, someone died, and types of mayhem went down, its prob going to happen again, thats why i put down "camp at your own peril".

Last NASS was ridiculous, fully blown anarchy. Its no wonder someone died the way things got so out of hand. Lets hope they've got on top of security better this time round or regardless of if it happens again, I wont be going.
Are we likely to see any overseas pros turn up? or was everyone scared off by the last one!?

Adam Kun expressed some interest in coming, apart from that I havent heard from anyone yet on riding at Nass.

doubtfull E i hate the place , i went to the first 3 nass ever back when i was skating and the first 2 were heavenly the third was a sh*t fest , the security were actually stopping the skaters from entering the skate hall , danny wainwright had to open all the fire exits so we could get in , quite frankly the shape of things to come , thing is its pretty close to home alot of the cunts there are chavs from taunton haha for real so nah its not for me man , im more into peacefull ambience than hitchhiker to dodge burning tent .

Anyone up for car sharing from the midlands? Im thinking Keelan, Lee, Andy... Anyone really who wouldn't mind chipping in for a bit of petrol. I'm driving down on the friday morning, back maybe saturday evening or sunday morning.

Just spoke to Shaun scarfe, we can run flatland on the friday when we want basically, so im going to shoot for 4pm, which is what i originally said. Gives people time to get there and practise a few hours...
Saturday is the only strict one, 10am start.
