I'll be there from Friday night to Sunday night bro.

Bring your tricks cause I will be filming for sure.

If anyone needs directions closer to the date, feel free to drop me a message.  Last year we held a 'pre-jam' at another spot, we'll most likely do the same this year.  We'll post that info closer to the date.  June 21! Mark it down.

i didnt sleep for over 24 hours prior to the jam, and then baked in the strong sun all day. i felt like i was trippin for like 2 days afterwards. :P
sunscreen, lotsa water, a bike, and whoever it is that owns the "decade machine" should bring it this year. ;)

Flying out of Canada is EXPENSIVE!  I suggest flying out of an airport in the States, that is nearby if possible.

You think flying out of canada is expensive, look at flights around canada. just to go from vancouver to edmonton or saskatoon is 600 bucks. I wasnt gonna bother with the U.S this year, except for maybe portland, but flights are just insane and canada is just way to big and spread out, to drive 36 hours for a jam.

u probly already knew all that, and ur also probly right about flying from the u.s. its just a tone of hassle when u take into account ferry price and transport. i think its insane that flights from canadian cities to other canadian cities are way more expensive then to travel across the border.

Lou, im probably headed up Fri nite with my friend Abubaca (shes the one who came to the NYC jam with us) to get camp set up. Kool-Aide and John.O should most def be goin up on sat, and Donald and Fab might come out too. if Joe doesnt go and u dont get to use the Beemer this year, ill try hookin u up with a ride with one of these guys. ;) kool?
just try to let me know ahead of time so we can set something up. u would prob have to take the PATH train into Jerz to Newark Penn Station tho and get picked up there. ;)

we will probably be booking at Indian Rock campgrounds(i believe its called). theres another site further out west that looks nicer, more wooded, and surrounded by water, but this one is much closer and will be allowed more tents per site. just seems more convenient. if anyone has any other suggestions on campsites, speak up. ;)
cant wait to ride and chill u all all day then relax with some brews and party supplies ;) all nite.
im sooo stoked!

heres the website for the place further west. about a 30 min drive from the jam spot.
http://conewagoisle.com

and heres the place closer by. maybe 10 15 minute drive from the jam spot.

I'm cool with any of the camp sites.  Some of the out-of-towners might have a say to which site is better or closer.  I'm just speaking for them since nobody has really said anything.  I'm thinking of a site within 20 some miles from the Jam.

just so long as we book the sites before its too late. ;)

also, all ive seen so far is 2 sites.
the one that has "bingo" is about 20+ miles from the jam and the other is less than half that distance away. im thinkin the closer one would be better. its not as woodsy as the other, but its CLOSE.
i dont wanna sound like an arse, but the sooner we know whos goin the better. id like to make sure theres enough room to get us all(whoever is down)in the same campground. if we wait too long, that may not happen, and who knows, just might run out of open sites for that wknd all together.
should we just book a site somewhere and whoever wants to party with, can book after us?
i dunno...
i really dont want to take up good space in this thread just talkin about the camping idea. ive done enough of that already. so, i guess, we'll book a site, and whoever wants to do that too can follow. id really hate to go to one site and have people decide they want to go to the OTHER one. ^_^

sorry for babbling...
ive been up for almost 48 hours plus did a few hours of ridin today..i need sleepy.

I'm thinking about offering lodging at my place for anyone who needs somewhere to stay. I live about 30 minutes west of York, so it's pretty easy access. All I ask is that everyone be fairly respectful of the pad as I still live with Ma Dukes. I know Bassman and RyRy will be here. I'll kick my mother out for the evening (which is ok because I pay half the damn bills) and we can party it up. Friday and Saturday will be open to anyone without a place to crash. Fly in to a larger airport and find someone who will be passing by to give you a ride.  You could also fly in to Philly and take Amtrak (train) west.  I know it stops in Lancaster and Harrisburg, which are both fairly close to York.  Flying to Harrisburg will almost certainly involve a connecting flight.

Hey everyone, i am looking at going to this from victoria, b.c which is a long long ways away

Not a problem. Anyone who needs a place to crash and/or party is welcome, just let me know a.s.a.p. The sleeping situation will basically be first come first serve, or wherever you fall down. We have a few extra beds, a futon, a couple reciliners, and a whole lotta floor. Word...

I think the house deal sounds a bit better for me just because of my health issues.  Sounds like a good option and it's not far from the jam.  Plus,  there is a open floor area for breakdance battles.  Who wants to get served??  Bring it!!

Budz, how do you feel about this idea??
Title: Re: York Jam
Post by: Budz on May 24, 2008, 11:21:31 AM
sounds like it would be a really fun time, especially the breakin part. believe it or not, i was once on cable tv in the 4th grade with a few of my homies break dancin.haha. we were no "cardboard lords", but we had some sh*t.haha.
but anywho, i think im still gonna rough it in a tent tho even if its just me out there. i LOVE camping out and im already booked for a site. a campfire, some brews, tunes, and maybe a lil sumthin sumthin... ;) ...im all about that.
we'll just have to make the best of our company together during the day at the jam. ;)
im still psyched on everything. its gonna be a good time for everyone who gets to the jam either way.
i believe my boy John.O. is bringin' his sound system, so the tunes should be bangin during the riding part of the day. any objections to that? ;D

he originally thought to hook it to his truck, but who wants exhaust fumes when were ridin.haha.
with a generator we could place it in the lawn away from where people are riding and breathing.

btw... Map Quest this address. its a quick and easy way to find where the jam will be at.
dont use Google Maps, cuz on Google it still just shows baseball fields where the parking lot is supposed to be...so use Map Quest. u will see the BIG lot just to the upper right of this address on the map if u click aerial view. ;) it has tennis courts and a football field just to the east and north of the lot. cant miss it on the map.
hope to see u there too!

Not sure if anyone has posted this( to lazy to check), but the Lot is right behind the Baseball stadium where the York Revolution Play, people could get directions to there or use as a landmark if need be.

See you all there!

I don't wanna sound like a dick or anything, but a sound system might wear out our welcome in that neighborhood. Remember the lot is right behind a bunch of houses. Lets not piss off the locals.

yup, i fully realize that, and wouldnt want to wear out anyones welcome. but if its faced away from those houses and directed towards the tennis courts and football field, it wouldnt bother the locals. not talkin about havin it cranked up on full, just enough to have some sounds. as far as i know know this system wasnt bought from Spinal Tap...it does not go up to "11". its only like 250 watts. less than most peoples car systems these days.haha.

Tim, you changed your party plans huh?  I want to be where the majority of you guys are gonna be.  My original plan was to go to the campgrounds like Budz and I discussed a few weeks back.  My friend Brian (blah) a few weeks back, decide to throw a house party almost the same distance as the campgrounds.  I chose the house because i'm unsure how i'm gonna feel due to my health condition.  I thought the idea of being able to crash in a comfortable bed for nothing would be appealing but it seems like nobody is commiting to Brian's place.  I'm stuck on this one.

I'm getting soooooo stoked for the Jam!

Rumor has it that brian chapman on his way to the york jam, got lost. While trying to figure out where he's going took his eyes off the road for a second. And actually drove his car into kevin jones on his bike on his way to the york jam.. This story just sounds too ironic to be true.. If anyone could confirm this so I could enjoy a laugh knowing it was true..

Al, how come you have so much booty?

Well, long story short, thank companies/shops for sponsering the events I'm going to.  Normally I wouldn't even bother selling any of it, but I'm desperate for cash (I don't have a job cuz' I like riding my bike to much and travelling) so selling this stuff is allowing me to travel a little bit :)

Haha, no worries, I love winning stuff, I would've used the forks for sure if they had mounts, but less and less people are using brakes these days, so no mounts was probably the best bet.  And this way I can sell it for cheap helping other riders and myself out!

Prasheel, you want some of the loot?  Step up your game!  OhhhhhhhHHHHhhhhhh...Haha.

Sorry I sold the bars already, pitdog wanted them, and he let me stay at his place for the Cleveland comp, so I couldn't say no!  I'm gonna bring a bunch of stuff to the jam, I don't have a complete backwheel at the moment for sale, mine is barely running as it is.

dont know if theres any more room at the campsite.
as far as i know, theres minimal people already going, cuz there was already limited site availability back when we booked the one site. but people keep wanting in at the last moment, and its now outta my hands. thats why i tried gettin a head-count weeks ago.
sorry, i just cant be much more help to anyone wanting to camp out.
if anyone wants to try to get a site, try contacting the camp thru this website. at the time we booked weeks ago, there were only 3-4 open sites left. BUT someone might have canceled and there MIGHT be an open site or 2. best i can suggest is to TRY contacting them.
if anyone books something...make sure Ryan(ryry)gets in on it with ya. kool!?

i just got in touch with the campgrounds and they said they would have a few extra sites for this weekend. so.......

BOOK IT NOW!!!...or u may not get in.

The sites are $20 a nite for 2 adults and then $5 a head for each extra person, you could get 3 tents on a site easy. (i just sent them an e-mail to see what the MAXIMUM amount of people and tents we can get away with per site)

Tim, ur HUGE tent just might come in handy after all. ^_^

btw...yes, these are TENT SITES. if u book, bring a tent, food, drink, etc.
there are bathrooms and showers there, so bring a towel and ur soaps, etc.
also, if u want a fire, expect to chip in to the firewood fund when u get there.
there are also RV sites...so if anyone has an RV, u can join in too. ;)

Go to expedia, search for hotel on the dates and it will look around. Couple years ago I had to stay in a hotel about 20 miles from York because everything was all booked.

Most of the hotels looked booked. The one I stayed about a few yrs ago was in Shrewsbury, PA below York on 83 or there are probably plenty of hotels in Lancaster.

this past weekend was my first jam ever and it rocked!!

everyone i met was mad cool and the vibe was really chill..

now i'm crazy inspired to get to the next level so koolaide, john o!  what's good?  i know you two are in the area and just like you said john, koolaide didn't store my #?!   ;D...  could you guys pm me with your #?

Ry & Blah:  just to set the record straight that was Kendall keeping the campsite rumbling with his loud-ass snoring...  we'll be in your area around 7/4 so maybe we could link up...

props to the canadians (Paula and Danielle)  who drove the smart-car..  they paid less in gas to drive 10 hours from Canada than we did to drive 3.5 hours from NJ..  represent!

Ken,
Kool-Aide and John arent on global, but ill send u their numbers so u can link up and ride. ;)

well, another York Jam is in the books. it was an incredible jam! was nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. jams are always good for that.
also had a great time with everyone who came out 4 the camping thing, Tim, Marty, Ryan, Abubaca, Dave, Brian, Ken, Kendall,(Ken and Kendalls GFs and their dog Jersey), and Paula and Danielle who took the 10+ hour drive from Canada. u are all awesome people and hope to chill again sometime soon.
also just want to say sorry for not really being myself. there was a family emergency going on this past wknd that i really should have been here for. but i didnt want to dis anyone and leave anyone stranded with no place to crash so i went to York anyway.
no sleep, and lack of food on Sat didnt help much either...then that bail i took just wiped my back, and right leg out. my mind was totally in a million different places. but anywho.....
hope everyone had a great time at the jam and hope to see everyone again next year!
props to Digger, Brett, Scotty, and everyone who made this jam go down!
there were some props being given to the wrong people during the jam, and some people werent mentioned at all. kinda rubbed me the wrong way, but just know that your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.
RIDE ON!

One hellava week end.
Thanks to all that participated in organizing the jam, Digger, Brett & all those I'm forgetting. There was a great turn out and tunes bump'n through the lot all day.

As for the afterparty/camping shinanigans,  Budz.....you da man. thanks for getting that all together and was a great end to a flatland full weekend.  I'm sure if it wasnt for your girlfriend being like the most prepaired chick ever, RyRy (Ryan), Blah (Brian) and myself (Dave) would have been sleepn in our cars or on the ground.
Kenneth, Kendal & Marty  - thanks for the party favors. (def. needed that after the long day of ridin)
Tim- nice meeting you brotha
Paula & Danielle - thanks for the Canadian crepes in the morning. (Bananas & Strawberries, mmmmmm   good...)  and the drunken International Conversation.  Y'all got moose up there?

Not a lot of footage.  The footage I did get was dope but it was really short.  I was more focused on stills this year.  I will have something up soon.

Mark Harris pulled an insane rocket nosewheelie going about 100 mph on film.  That was dope.

Good lookin buds and abubaca!  Camping with everybody was the best idea ever.  I wasn't even drinking but i do remember something about girls from the future in their lil future car with their bags of milk, perfect weather, tasty kakes, and herbal breakfast.  York rules .com!

I had a great time even though I was constipated the whole weekend, it was really bad.  It was hard to be myself with all that sh*t on my mind.
Thanks to Digger, Brett, Scotty and anyone else I forgot...oh yeah..and all the riders who drove great distances to ride.
Tim- Thanks for originally offering your BIG ASS tent, that thing was no joke!
Marty- You are just one chill dude, thanks for the head change!
Kennith & Kendall- Glad your first experience at the York Jam was awesome. That should change your outlook on flatland forever. Thanks for the head change as well. On another note, I find it hard to believe that Kendall was the only one snoring, I believe it was both of you. You guys were louder than the bullfrogs mating.
Budz & Abubaca- you guys were the glue that made everything come together for this camping trip. I got hooked up with their extra tent and a air mattress for my bony ass. Also, thanks for the tires! I owe you.
Dave & Brian- Thanks for putting up with my sh*t!  You both were snoring loud too!
Paula & Danielle- props to both of you for driving 10+hours from Canada in a smart car. How in the hell did both of you fit your bikes and all your camping stuff in the back of that thing?...it was the size of a glove box. The strawberry n banana crepes with chocolate syrup was BANGIN'!! That was like the icing on the cake!
The final chapter to all of this is when I got home late Sunday afternoon....I gave birth to a brown baby boy!!  The end to 2.5 days of constipation.  Sorry....I just had to share all that!!

Hope to do it all again next year minus the constipation. RIDE ON   -RY

Ry, congrats on the baby boy! ;D
i was wonderin how that all worked out. ^_^ i thought the picnic table wheelie wouldve done the trick. :P still a rad stunt by Dave, Brian, and Ry!!!
next year, again, 4 sure! might have to go to the other campsite thats further away tho. the one we were at didnt allow the "drinks" but we didnt find that out til after we got back home.haha.
if we all plan ahead next year, we can make sure more people can come out. we'll get a few sites back to back to back...to back.
so awesome to have the pleasure of good company, both camping and at the jam itself!

I want to live in America! It's always good times.

Strange enough about the car is that we brought more home than what we came with, but some how managed to pack things tighter so everything fit in the back.  On the way down we had our back packs up front with us.

Thanks to the guys that organized this event, and thanks to everyone else who showed up and rocked my world. One Love.

See you at Indy Jam!

P.S. You can buy fries at Taco Bell in Canada

Ok, I'm a bit late I suppose; thanks first of all to Digger and everyone who put this mother f*cker on. I had a blast. Matt from NY: thanks for the bars. I'm not sure what your name is: thanks for the stem. Budz and Abubaca: thanks for setting up the whole camping thing and accomidating our unprepared asses. The Kens: muchos gracias for the smoke and the loud ass snoring. Tim: sorry I didn't buy your wheel, but I'm glad you found a buyer. Marty: awesome meeting you, as everyone else. Canadians: you girls are f*cking liars!!! There are not bags of milk and fries in Taco Bell in Canada. Great to meet so many new people and see so many great riders. Sorry if I forgot anyone (other than those bastards Ryan and Dave), can't wait for the next one. IS IT NEXT YEAR YET!?!?!?

i dunno dude...that milk looks kinda brownish.
or is that just the way milk is SUPPOSED to look?!
dunno...i never jacked a cow off so, uh... none clue.
as Johnny Carson used to say, "weird wild shtuff".
Paula, will they pop u at the border if u smuggled some milk bags across next year?
u know, so we could all sit back with an ice cold bag of milk around the fire n shtuff. ^_^
last thing i drank out of a bag was my 40oz  at Mullaly during the King Of NewYork comp...i think its time for change. ;)

"bull" milk maybe?! interpret that anyway u want. ;) bull as in BS, or literally as in from a bull. *barfs at the second interpretation.  :P

Kevin.L., yea the New York Jam is usually posted as NYC Jam, unless someone is doin a jam upstate NY or whatnot. ;)

York Jam, has just always been York Jam...no PA is needed. its the longest running flat jam in existence, so basically when anyone hears "York", they automatically assume York,PA.
hope u will make it out next year!

Also tell abubaca that she can put us both on the list! that way i can make sure Marty finds  20 oz. pop with-in 5 miles of the riding spot, i dont have to stand in line and drink my ice tea and not pay for it, and also we can eat some tasty cakes again from turkey hill! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? :) ohh yeah, before i forget, whats up with the bridges and the tunnels leading to the backyards? i honestly thought i was in some sort of communist country! :) ARE YOU KIDDING ME? :)

not a problem next time we need to have a better plan though. More time to recover before drinking would be nice but then who wants to leave York Jam early......Once I get a date I'll let you know what the camping plan this year is. I know one place has a section with ten spots they would rent to us if we can get a good size group we would all be in one spot instead of people being split up again.

Bud. On the way home i told marty "that next year i will drive!". So please count us in! :)

my goal this year is to find a camp ground that allows alchole on site. Found out on Sunday that we weren't suppose to drink at the camp ground

whats "ALCHOLE"!? is that like some exotic vegetable, or town in Mexico?! ^_^ haha.

if u meant alcohol, like we were sayin since the last trip, we should go here-

http://www.conewagoisle.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

its the next closest campground to the jam. about 20+ mins away or so.
and they DEFINITELY allow ALCHOLE(hehe)there.
if u watch the slide show on the home page, they even have a rabbit drinking rum-n-coke. no lie! sounds like my kinda place.haha.  ;D

remind me again why are we friends cause I would never publicly make fun of you for having problems spelling!

Also that's the camp ground I was talking about. If you remember right I was the one who found it last year and that's where I wanted to stay but you wanted the one closer to York.

fk u! dont go gettin all control freak on me today. im in no mood for ur bratty shyt.
we BOTH agreed to stay at the CLOSER camp to the jam because we thought it would be better if people didnt have to drive so far after jammin all day. and i was only bustin ur balls about the ALCHOLE shyt. dont u see the "haha"s and emoticon shyt? thats a good indication that im messin around. u have no probs when i bust ur chops in public when were face to face...why is online any different? u bust my balls all the time too. big whoop.
what i dont like is u tryin to make me out to seem like an a-hole or an idiot. youve been doing that too much lately and ive been quiet about it for the most part.
stop acting like the little princess u THINK u are and step off.
try channeling ur inner hate for me and go learn a damn trick already. youve had ur bike since May and havent made a real effort to learn anything. meanwhile your runnin around talkin about, "oh, im a flatlander. i ride". POSER! u aint a rider unless u at least make an effort. oh yea, i know how bizzy u say u have been, but truth is, u havent been THAT bizzy since May. the bs isnt working on me.
ur not a princess, ur a part time brat who thinks ur high above people and u dont think about other peoples feelings, but get pissed when someone doesnt recognize u own.
"oh ur jealous of my bike, ur jealous of my car(that daddy paid 10k for u)"...NO Donna, im not. get over yourself!
im sure everyone will think i AM an a-hole now, but i said what i had to say, and now u go on "IGGY" cuz im tired of the shyt.
u wonder why i walked away from our friendship years ago?...it was because of the snotty bratty shyt u pull too often. bye!
just so u dont think im a total d*ck(which im sure u wil anyway, even tho i hit the nail on the head)...thanx for helpin me out with shyt while ive been down. that stuff doesnt go unnoticed. but i just cant handle ur constant bytching and control freak shyt anymore.
peace.

I have one thing to say and when we bust on each other in person we know we are just joking around that's our friendship. When you bust on me on line people read it wrong.  Other then that I'm not going to fight with you on here since were both in bad moods today and since I've been out of work I've been moody. If you want to walk away from the friendship that's your deal I think we both need to cool down and talk it out when we are both not read to kill.

cool! glad both of you can work things out- even if it is eventually! Ive tried with a few select riders, and they still talk sh*t, even though i have bent over backwards for these people, they still try like hell to create a munity against me! so with that said, there is always more than just being negative, theres always the riding to focus on witch these people will never get, yet they try so hard in other ways to progress- witch doesnt work!   like i am presenting to both of you in my previous post, you both are more than welcome here, to ride, kick back, chill, drink, then ride some more. with not only me but some really good people that i can truely call more than friends! so if you guys can make it to my point of the mid-west somehow, my door is always open! even to the people that have backstabbed me here)(because i have always helped out someone in need nomatter what the case)

Tim, thanx dude. u are a rad dude.

Donna, im finished with this shyt. u dont seem to get it.
i cant deal with being made to feel like im some sort of evil doer every other day cuz u cant have a freakin laugh about shyt. im done. seriously. i had my best friend pull that same stuff for a long a$$ time and i kept letting things slide until he decided it would be fun to push me down 3 flights of stairs one day. i know it was his alcoholism that made him wanna try to kill me, and u are not an alcoholic and probably wouldnt throw me down stairs like that. BUT u both have/had this way of making me feel like im below u, and i dont like it and ive had enough of that in my life already and dont need it no more.  im thru.
sorry i had to say this shyt on here, and i apologize to everyone who has to read it.
but Donna, u just think im some gullible fool who will take everyones shyt and not care.
well, i do care, and im not that soft a$$ fool u think i am.
i might be mr nice guy most of the time cuz i really dont like beefin with anyone and try to be a good person, but on the flip side of the coin, im also no pushover.
people, u can think what u want about me now. it doesnt phase me. i know who i am and what im about.  anyone who truely knows me, knows my heart is usually in the right place, but theres only so much a good person can take before they snap. :(

bud! thanks dude! yeah i think i am in the same mental state as you are,but i deal with it on a more agressive way(not violence though) well, you know what im talking about from york jam! we talked about alot of crazy sh*t @ 3a.m. for sure, and yet, i feel your charactor has yet to change in my book! So let it be, get well, and focus on riding! Bud for me to say in a open forum that "flatland saved my life" is a understatement! so my friend consontrate on the positives, rather than the negatives! and find your way though it all with flat, trust me man, i am a happier , more passive person phyically, and mentally because of it! it will make you progress both on/off the bike aswell  ! Take care my friend, and never forget , my door is always open to you in any time of need! T.K.

yes, flatland quite possibly saved my life too.
i wasted more than enough years lookin at the bottom of empty bottles when i couldnt ride. god was i super duper depressed when i was off my bike for sooo long.
getting back on my bike, and the birth of my 1st nephew have given me a new hope and got me sobered up too. still like to party, but its not a CONSTANT like it was when i couldnt ride.
hope to get out that way Tim, chill, ride n whatnot. one of these days i wont be such a broke mess anymore, and ill def take the trip out there.

you know what I didn't want to deal with this on here but since your venting in public let me say one thing I was always there for you no matter what. Never once in my life did I ever think you were below me. You've always been there for me and you can ask anyone that I always looked up to you as a friend and a person. I'm sorry I got upset about you busting on the way I spell but you know that is a tough subject with me. And if I was really getting you this mad on things I wish you would have talked to me that what friends do. They don't through away people who would do anything for them cause that person got them mad. I spoke up to you about busting me on line and thought it was finished. If speaking my mind makes me a bitch well then you should have know that a long time ago. I'm sorry you decided that our friendship was this easy to throw away and comparing me to Mike isn't fare cause I've gone out of may way to be a good friend. I'll mail you your cd's and hat you left in my car and if there is anything else just let me know.

Peace

yea, u have been there, and like i said, it hasnt gone unnoticed. but u need to step back and think about how u talk to people alot of times. like ur looking down ur nose at them. i know u think ur a princess, and ur a control freak, and that u bytch and moan til u get what u want...youve admitted all that no me. ill tell ya tho, its hard to deal with from any friend.
so dont think its about this ONE incident, cuz it not. its been building for a while.
im already too stressed with where my life is at to have to deal with anymore stress.
u also have my Odyssey stickers, and Yankee towel, return of the king dvd. the towel ive asked to get back for like a  year, but havent seen. either u or ur cousin also has my Dylan cd too.
ur 300 dvd and a cd are still here.
save on shipping, ill leave ur stuff in a plastic bag on the back seat of my car with the back door unlocked...u can just roll by and make the switch whenever.
sorry kiddo, but i need a damn break. u have been a good friend in lotsa way, but i cant keep being made to feel like an enemy or a lesser person...esp not at this time in my life.
ill drop ur stuff in my car later tonite...about 5-6ish.
