The seventh edition of Flatground.
We are super stoked to confirm to you the seventh edition of Flatground, which will be held on August 4 & 5 at the NDSM area in Amsterdam. Friday night everybody is welcome for a get together. Saturday morning we will kick off with the qualifiers for Expert, Master and Pro. At night we will finish off in style with a BBQ.
The finals for Expert, Master and Pro class will be held on Sunday. After the Pro finals we will announce the winner of the BMX Flatland World Circuit which previous rounds took place in Japan and the USA.
BMX Flatland World Circuit
This year Flatground will be the last stop of the BMX Flatland World Circuit with previous rounds in Tokyo and New Orleans. Current leader of the World Circuit is Shintaro Misawa from Japan. Lets see if he can handle the pressure and take home the title.
This years Flatground will take place again in the former ships warf: the NDSM warf in Amsterdam North. The venue is perfectly reachable from Amsterdam Central Station with a free ferryboat and easy to find by car. Enough parking place is available as well. Have a look at www.ndsm.nl for more information.
We bring the wood!
Once again, Flatground will be held on the well-known OSB wooden floor that we introduced to the world of flatland 5 years ago and has since become the standard worldwide. A separate contest and practice floor will be available in the same venue, right next to each other.
Flatground will offer a high quality contest for professionals as well as for experts and masters. Registration fee is 25 euros for the expert and master class and 50 euros for the pro class. This price will include entrance to the venue on Saturday and Sunday. Prize money for the pro class is 2500 euros for now. Our main sponsors provide prizes for the expert and master class.
Where can I park my bike?
We will have a secured place available at the venue for everyone to park his or her bike.
On Monday July 9, the Flatground website will go online. This is where you will be able to register for the contest, find route descriptions, buy tickets on presale, arrange your stay in Amsterdam, become friends with Flatground on Myspace and stay informed on the latest info.
