I don’t normally give the Must Watch tag for contest footage, but….
My jaw hit the floor with the level of riding for Master of Creativity Round 2, the aim of bringing new tricks to the game seems to really be working!
5th place tie – Kazuya Hirayama, what an amazing back wheel rider. Never seen the lard yard stubble duck switch to regular foot saturn spin step to spinning pumping death truck, executed so well to boot! Also really liked his subtle no-handed forward death truck turbine using the tyre, and slowed it right down. Absolutely amazing talent from Japan!
5th place tie – Mateus Beckmann, I’ve waxed lyrical over the last few years about this kids talent and he keeps delivering. The standout for me in MB’s entry, the xft ride in to whopper bar flip at the 1:11 mark, just beautiful!
4th Place – Thomas Noyer, no one flows the front wheel on the planet like Thomas Noyer, such creativity in his switches and flow. I was especially stoked on the levitating no footed backwards crackpacker at the 1:40 mark.
3rd place – James White continues to push his unique riding style to new levels in Round 2 of the MOC contest. The opening xft lawn to smith jump lash off the same foot has never been done, blown away that the Godfather keeps going so hard. Not to mention his second line at 2:12, flatland is all about your own personal progression and Whitey demonstrates that perfectly here!
2nd place – Pedro Melo, I feel like this contest was made for Pedro! The half decade jump round to riding backwards and the half cab version that follows. What an incredible talent Pedro is!
1st place tie- George Manos, much like Pedro, I get the same feeling this contest suits exactly what George’s riding is all about. Misunderstood by many, GM continues to bring a smile to my face with amazing bike control and creativity demonstrated with the double foot jam to no footed karl whip out at 1:09, blown away how long George held the no foot karl for! And the last move, another NBD xft one foot backwards nose, incredible!
1st Place tie- John Yull, a few people already commented that they know what to expect with John’s riding. But I never thought in my wildest dreams I would see a brakeless no handed backwards decade! Let’s embrace such a creative time once again in our sport, not to mention the opening bar spin weedwacker one handed decade out!
From my perspective, this contest although it is by it’s nature a “contest” it is not about the results. This is about you and your personal progression, and bringing new things to the table. I saw so much progression out of everyone, one of the most inspiring things I’ve had the pleasure to witness in some time!
