Ah Interbike 2010, where all different types of people and their bikes come together in the Sin City. For some of the Tribe, it was our first time to such a huge event.
We pulled into Vegas around 1am. S.Kahj and myself decided to hit the casino. My luck is still bad, fuck, So I left and headed back to the van. We couldn't check in till 2pm so I took a nap in the van till the morning. S.Kahj arrives after a while. We had a bunch of Tribe meetings and then decided to head to McDee's for their free wifi.
1:00pm we checked in to the best hotel in town, Circus Circus! Placed a few calls and just chilled the rest of the day. Tomorrow will be a big day. Ganji and S&M combine force to bring the masses the 1st flat demo at Interbike. We would be riding before the S&M Rail Jam. Later that evening we had some people come by and joined in the meeting. Bobby stopped by and dropped off our passes in between our activities. I can say that it was cool to finally meet Big Daddy. That guy is on another level.
The next day was the opening day at Interbike, as we walked in, I became star struck, the S&M booth was in the front and low and behold Sean McKinney drinking a 40oz. I think he thought we were groms, he joked and handed us a shield. Sean is BMX, he keeps it real. I went looking for the DK booth, so I can find my half-Jewish brother Zach aka Catfish. A couple of jokes, and off to explore. As we looked at the screen on the Kink booth, we saw Kent Pearson name on the bonus section, and then bam, Mr Pearson is here in Vegas. We also ran into Chad S. at the Sparky's booth, which in turn we were reunited with the Subrosa guys. Those dudes are the greatest.
The S&M Rail Jam, Catfish B-day, and Nora Cup all rolled into one on Thursday. The night before, factory Ganji rider Dirty Hearn got wasted with the Innertwine dudes. It was bad, he puked in the hallway and on his new kicks.
We got to Interbike and as we passed by Sean McKinney, I could smell the shit talking down the road. So had to prove him wrong. Chad and Ryan were already warming up. People are crowding to see whats up. It was cool to see Garrett Reynolds destroy the fun box. During the demo Chad showed the crowd true BMX, Ryan comes in with his smooth as ice style, S.Kahj of course killed it on the back wheel, and me and Dirty just holding it down. Matt Hoffman was also on deck checking out the flat. Now that's real.
Later that night the NORA Cup Awards. Many faces, new and old. Awards were given out to the best in all disciplines of BMX. Lots of drinking and a good time. Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.
