Lutherstadt Wittenberg, 1. Juni, 2013: nach zwei erfolgreichen internationalen BMX Flatland Contests, unter dem Namen Wittenberger Flatland Ball, in den Jahren 2005 und 2010 geht Flatland in der Lutherstadt Wittenberg in die dritte Runde. Neuer Name, neue Location! Aus der Skatehalle zieht der Contest in diesem Jahr in ein Gebäude mit bewegter Vergangenheit um. Der Schweizer Garten wurde um 1900 errichtet und diente zunächst als Tanzsaal. Im folgenden Jahrhundert wurde das Gebäude von Lagerhalle bis Frauenhaus für alle möglichen Zwecke verwendet. Vor wenigen Jahren kaufte Tattoo-Artist Danny Zimmermann das Gebäude und führt es nun wieder seiner ursprünglichen Bestimmung als Veranstaltungsort zu.

Für den Contest wird auf der ehemaligen Tanzfläche eine ca. 200qm große Holzfläche errichtet um den Flatland-Fahrern perfekte Bedingungen zu bieten. Eine Sound- und Lichtanlage wird den Saal wieder in altem Glanz erstrahlen lassen. Vom umlaufenden oberen Rang und direkt an der Fläche im Erdgeschoss werden die Zuschauer die Flatland-Tanzfläche umringen.

Wenn das Wetter mitspielt wird im Außenbereich gechillt, gegrillt und bei einem kühlen Getränk entspannt!

Zahlreiche deutsche und einige internationale Fahrer haben ihre Teilnahme bereits bestätigt. Das Datum ist der 20. Juli und damit eine Woche nach den BMX Worlds in Köln. Alle internationalen Gäste die noch etwas länger in Deutschland bleiben möchten sind daher herzlich willkommen. Gestartet wird in die Kategorien Flatland Pro und Flatland Amateur.

Organisiert und ausgerichtet wird der Contest vom Radsport & Skater - Verein Lutherstadt Wittenberg e.V. (RaSk e.V.)

Der RaSk e.V. richtet den BMX Flatland Contest zum dritten Mal aus. Darüber hinaus organisiert der Verein die erfolgreiche Little Moscow Jam Serie in seiner eigenen Skatehalle mit angeschlossenen Dirt Jumps.

Die A9 ist die nächste Autobahn. Aus Süden kommend nimmt man die Abfahrt Coswig und aus dem Norden am besten die Abfahrt Niemegk.

ENGLISH VERSION:

Lutherstadt Wittenberg, 1st June, 2013: after two successful international BMX Flatland Contests (under the name Wittenberger Flatland Ball in 2005 and 2010) Flatland will return to Wittenberg for a third round of action! New name, new location! This year the contest is moving out of the skatehall into a building with a colorful past. The „Schweizer Garten“ (Swiss Garden) was built around 1900 as a dancing-hall. During the following century it was used for pretty much everything – from warehouse to women’s refuge. A few years ago tattoo artist Danny Zimmermann bought the building and is renovating it in order to restore it’s original purpose as an event location.

For the contest a 200 sqm wood floor will be installed on the the former dance floor to provide perfect conditions for the flatland riders. A sound and lighting system will bring back the original flair of the building.

If the weather will allow if then everyone is welcome to enjoy the barbeque, chilled atmosphere and a cold drink outside.

Many German a few international riders already confirmed their participation. The date is July 20 and therefore 1 week after the BMX Worlds in Cologne. All international guests who would like to stay a bit longer in Germany after the Worlds are more than welcome. The contest will have an amateur and a pro class.

Radsport & Skater - Verein Lutherstadt Wittenberg e.V. (RaSk e.V.) is organizing the contest.

The RaSk e.V. is hosting the BMX Flatland Contest for the third time. Furthermore the club is regularly organizing the successful Little Moscow Jam series in it’s own skatehall and outside park with dirt jumps.

By Plane

By Train

Lutherstadt Wittenberg is located about 100km south of Germany’s capital Berlin. It can be easily reached by highspeed and local trains from Berlin. Share a „Happy-Weekend-Ticket“ (valid for non-highspeed trains only) with fellow riders to save money:

The contest site is 2km away from the train station. You should take a walk or your bike from the train station because your way will lead you on a perfectly straight line through the beautiful ancient city center of Wittenberg right to the contest site. By Car

The A9 is the nearest Autobahn. The exit „Coswig“ is the closest exit if you are coming from the south. If you are coming from the north then the exit Niemegk is the best choice.
